Hey all...I'm new to the Warhammer 40k hobby, although I do have some experience with modeling. I used to build military and automotive models when I was a kid, but more recently I've built several Gundam models. I love building Gundams, but after they're complete all you can really do is display them. It's not uncommon to pay $40-$70 for a single Master Grade model, so I figured I'd switch over to 40k because I get to build and paint something that can actually be used! That and the Orks are way cool to me. I just got the AoBR set at my local comic/game store and I've finished assembling the Orks. I'm in the process of filing off the mold lines and flash at the moment. I haven't gotten around to painting them yet, though. =P I haven't done anything with the Space Marines, although my little cousin put together two of the Terminators. I've yet to play an actual game of 40k, but hopefully I'll be going to an "Apocalypse" session at local game store next Sunday to get a feel for it.

Try to not be intimidated by the Apocalypse game, models generally don't die that fast in 40K.
