And by that I mean Armored company with sisters allies:

Commander in Russ, AT rounds, las/hb

Cannoness, power weapon, brazer, 5 celestians, Melta/HF in a rhino

2X10 sisters Melta/HF, VSS w/ power weapon in rhinos

2 russes

5 seraphim 2 flamers, VSS PW

2 demolishers, las/plas

bassie with indirect.

That's 5 faith points, 31 sisters, 5 AV14 tanks, and 6 pie plates a turn.

Think it can work? I actually own nearly all of this right now, but most of it's unpainted.

Pie Plates are nice and all, but with the new rules you might want to trade out one Russ for a Exterminator to take out Predators, also what about, I forget the tanks name, but the one with the S 10 shot that you have to roll to hit, it's not a Pie Plate.  That would be good against AV 14 things.  I would think Necron with one or two Monoliths would give you a rough time since only 1/4 of what you kill with a pie plate would stay dead (dang Resurrection Orbs).

I agree with Green Monkey.  I use the exterminator as my commander every time.  Autocannons, heavy bolters, stubber, hunter killer, whatever.  I like the laser destroyer also, but it looks like you're too tight on points to fit it in.

Armoured Company allied with anything works. By that, I mean when we play mega battles I usually use AC and no matter who is on my side they compliment the AC and vice versa to the point of it being broken. For me, I usually use an inquisitor instead of a cannoness, and I prefer heavy bolter as the hull weapon on the Demo, but it looks pretty similar to a list I've been building. I have had limited experience with it though since we've been playing 1000 point games exclusively lately.

I'm assuming the plan is to have the Seraphim running behind the tanks, popping out and flaming any AT greebles that get too close (i.e. tankbustas, Eldar w/haywire, 'fists, etc.)?

Could work. I kinda want to see the Canonness and co. in an Immolator, but if you don't have the points...

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Ed,

Check your fire here, I was under the impression that there was a concensus that armored company, or at least the WD version did not have allies (no references at all on that but just to bring up the point).

Assuming that is ok, have you given thought to giving your commander a Vanquisher or Executioner to take advantage of the BS 4? I'm assuming ace gunner doctrine for the ordnance direction dice re-roll.

Otherwise good mix of antiassault.  Looks like every unit can hit both armored and unarmored targets. Some decent AP1/power weapon for 2+ evildoers as well.

I like this idea so much that I'm definitely gonna steal it.

I definitely think it can work.
The only suggestions I'd have is that I don't see power weapons on Veteran Sister Superiors as useful.  They get one attack ('cause you rapid fired instead of charging), at I3 with WS3 and only S3.  Even with Hand of the Emperor it's still only one attack at WS3.

Also, the Ace Gunners doctrine seems too good not to use.  Especially with the re-roll on the direction die.  If you have target point for the battlecannon be the front, center of a target vehicle then rounghly half of scatter directions are still useful and a re-roll brings you to roughly 3/4 as useful, thereby allowing the Ordnace to be effectively uses as anti-tank.

Ace Sponson Gunners on Demolishers with Plasma cannons seems just fun (though if AT is done almost exclusively by ranged fire by your usual opponents then it is fairly useless).

On Dakka when we can't use RAW we use Name calling, Poo throwing, and Dictionary quotes in that order to resolve it. - Glaive Company CO

I think I'll lose the power weapons and replace the meltas with flamers in the troops squads. Any ace gunners I can manage to cram in, I will.

The command tank has AT rounds, which means it's nearly a vanquisher for less points (can't move and shoot the big gun, the vanquisher can).

Then I'm dropping the HQ and the Seraphim, and plugging in an inquisitor lord and callidus. Won't it be fun to make people bunch up and walk out of cover on turn 1, haha!

"Think it can work?" Its an IG army with more Heavys and "better" troops. Its a Sisters army with the best long range shooting possible. So yes, I guess it might.

Problems:
IC denies proper targets for most enemy assault units, while normal Guard provides many ablative squads. Your concept does neither.
You dont want to have your sisters assaulted, but need to bring them close to the enemy and lack counterassault.

I guess when you like Batlecannons and 3+ saves, you might fare better with " tanks + close combat marines". IW or LatD with alliys (?) come to mind.
