here is my new 2k Tau list, the plan is to stay mobile as i can. minus the broadsides of course, tho i have thought about a third hammerhead. how is this to everyone all criticisms are welcome!

Couple of quick things that stand out.

Why bonding knives on solo el commanders?
The el's have no drone controllers.

Broadside team has no drone controller.

After you explain those it looks like a very standard mostly mec tau list.

Sorry I thought the bonding knifes would carry over to the unit they are attached to and I also just assumed that since drone controllers are free no one would bother

Yeah, you need a Done Controller to actually take those Shield Drones

Other than that, it looks like a legit list. Good work.

Two things I'll hrow out there -

1). Mix up the suits a little. Try out one squad of XV8s with Burst Cannons, Missile Pod, and Multi-tracker. 3 S5 attacks is still pretty good, and can dish out multiple wounds. Check out the Crisis Suit Mathhammer in my sig.

2.) I'd put Team Leaders in your XV8 squads. An extra 5 points, the Team Leader has access to War Gear, like a Targeting Array...Totally worth it if you can fit the points in.

I know i need the DC but i thought most qould assume they were there, i would obviously include them in a tournement list and will do so here from now on as well. I plan to get a few more suits to be able to use the Burst cannon set, really just using what i have at the moment

Haha, sorry, I've seen a lot of derpy Tau lists, and you really need to post everything because you can never assume! And I've had good luck with my BC/MP suits more than once, and they're cheaper than Fireknives.

Other than the BK and DC, solid list. I would move one of those BK down to your Broadsides. Don't want those guns running.

You can free up the points for the Bonding Knives by swapping one squad of PR/MP for PR/BC. They're actually slightly better at killing MEQs, and definitely better at killing GEQs. That will bring the total list cost down to 1985, which means a knife for your Broadsides, and a Team Leader with a knife for one squad of Crisis.

so does the BK on the EL' not transfer to the unit he is in?

It does. You just have three crisis squads and two commanders with knives.

ahh well that makes sense then.......-facepalm-

It's always the little things that will confuse you the most haha. Plus, the Tau 'dex is terribly written compared to others...
