You do not need that much Tyrant Guard on a Tyrant, one is enough as it's easier to get cover. Give the Tyrant armoured shell so krak missiles bounce off it. Ranged weaponry would be nice as the Tyrant is slow on foot.

Venomthropes are a bit of a weak unit, they give good benefits to a Tyranid army, though a smart player will just I.D them straight away and then they are gone.

Hive Guard are a better unit than Zoanthropes. They have decent range, do not require psychic tests, fire more shots, and do not grant cover saves in a particular fashion. Plus they are cheaper .

The 10 Gargolyes aren't really going to last. I would consider 20 at least with adrenal glands as well.

Raveners are cool, though units of 3 are not hard to stop. Merge them together to make one big ass unit, they should tackle anything without power fists, thunder hammers and force weapons.

Trygons always come in pairs for target saturation, a single Trygon is going to get wasted pretty quickly. You do no need the regen either. These things should be racing up the field as they have a possible 18" assault range, this will help the Gargoyles.

Read the rules on army list posting, get the points values off the individual upgrades.

I'd say this list looks like a mishmash to be honest. You've 2 threatening MCs and a support one. You;ve some Hiveguard some zoanthropes but not enough, you're stealers are missing the most vital upgrade (toxin sacs).

It just seems like a total mess. You're looking like you're planning on hitting your enemy in nice small chunks so he can deal with your army peicemeal and very little seems to be working together.

Zoanthropes need spods always. Hiveguard suit a walking list (which zoans don't) but need to be taken in larger numbers (at least 6 in a list like this). The Hive Tyrant isn't worth 375 points even with old adversary.

I don't see why so many points are in gargoyles and ravenors when nothing else in your army is that fast.

Solo Trygon is asking to die.

Tervigon doesn't even have adrenal glands and toxin sacs which are basically manditory. But they are very unreliable and generally only really work if taken in 3s or more.

You;ve taken bits from 4 different types of list and equiped them poorly. Decide what you want the list to do as a whole, take units that help it acheive that and give units the upgrades that give them the most benefit (i.e. a 3 point upgrade for a stealer that increases their effectiveness by 50% is a no brainer to take every time).

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Mercer makes sense, as usual, but it does look as though you've already submitted the list and so this should be in tactics and not lists.

It's all about screening/cover saves in this list. Keep the raveners and venomthropes completely out of sight so they can't even be shot at apart from by outflanking units. The MCs are best for this. Always ensure that 2 of your tyrant guard get a cover save so the tyrant gets one.

Choose the recipient of catalyst carefully as to what is a target that turn and what is not expendable..

You're going to have to deploy as far forward as you can/ MCs out front and then just charge at them, don't bother stopping to shoot with anything apart from the hive guard, just make the run move. Try to get the army to reach CC at the same time and trail out the units to keep them in the OA bubble on assault - hence why you need tyrant near the front and not skulking in the rear.

Afterwards, some list tweaking is definitely recommended.

I like the list, I would need to play it a lot to really get the tactics down for it but you seem to have a fast assault wave based infiltrating stealers as both broods can potentially hit on Turn one. Hormaguants, Tyrant and guard make one prong and the Ravenors, Gargoyles and Trygon make up the second prong of a wave 2 assault pincher. The VT role in with which ever prong needs the cover more.

THe GH and Zoa make back to midfield Tank hunting team, with the HG doing a the transport popping, and the Zoa warp blasting what falls out.

Termigaunt and trevigon + spawn troops and do the lazy objective taking.
