I know Pask isn't the most popluar upgrade, but 29 shots vs monstrus creatures isn't too bad, and at 1k, and with FRFSRF on the blob IS, this is sheer volume of fire.

The CCS is set to camp and issue orders and take Plas pot shots. The PCS with meltas tank hunts, of course. The Flamer/Fist PCS waits for incoming CC units and ties them up with pain, and then is joined by a IS blob. The Lascannons just stand back and shoot stuff with orders from CCS.

My counter offer for 1000points in Guard gun lines. Twice as many lascannons, more templates, and plenty of shots without the unnecessary risks of advancing forward with melta or over heating plasma.

Hi,

My thoughts would be the following:

- CCS; lots of points in a very fragile squad.. foot slogging plasma guns will be targeted and killed almost instantly, then you lose your orders. I would either make them less of a threat, i.e. 1x plasma gun, or leave them bare and put a Master of Ordnance in there - stick 'em in cover and blast away.

- PCS; too many CC upgrades - you'll never get to use those Fists against 99% of enemy units you'll face in CC. Drop them to get more points.

- Infantry Squads (Platoon A); OK. Put the Commissar from the PCS in one of them to have them stick around.

- Platoon B; OK. PCS should really have a ride, same as CCS, if they are totting that many specials. Too easy to shoot otherwise.

- Punisher; up to you really. I would prefer either a Demolisher or standard Battle Tank with no sponsons. Are you really going to see that many MC's in 1k games that it's worth taking it? I don't think so. Save points and give either CCS/PCS a Chimera so they can use their specials - especially the CCS if you want to keep the plasma; far more reliable against MC's... and you can twin-link!

Wish I could.

The only commissar model I have has the fist, and the IS squads cannot have a fist on their commissar. Until I get more commissars, he runs with PCS, or I go without. Which is sad, I love commissars.
