so im trying to come up wuth something differe.t and was just wondering if it was possible to have an army based on land speeder squads stormraven transports and assaultmarines...iknowitspossible but would it work?

sounds like it would be good the stormraven allows transport of assault marines meaning you could drop them in as well as deep striking also the storm ravens themselves are VERY good :L (i use DA and i want us to get access to them) but yeah it could work you would want to use the storm raven to support the land speeders as they arnt much use against tank like units and the assault squads are also a good idea would add a thunder hammer to the sgt of one so if they come close to a creature or walker they have a chance also make sure they are all 10 men as 5 man squads arnt very good they die to quickly would like to see how this plays myself as a final note i would take 1 furioso as you can add it to the storm raven so you can drop it off where your troops need support

This is a list used by the player Zid here on Dakka and he has had quite a bit of success with it. Now by no means do I believe you should copy his list and run with it; however, it is a good starting point.

I personally run a more mechanized approach with the Assault Squads in Razorbacks, but that's just how I like my armies.

Well, its a fun army to play. I guess Mephiston is one SR and the Assault Termies incl. Priest in the other.
One issue is to keep the SR alive when they are turbo boosting close to the enemy front ranks.
Then I'd find it better to have Tornados with cyclones since they are able to stun or shake enemy tanks.

so your saying mephiston with termies. then ravens with the assault. then tornados for missile support? sounds good. im just trying ro make a themed.but different list

Ayep that's my 1750 list. Its been shelved lately while I tinkered with dark eldar and necrons and my daemons.

At 1850 I add a basic librarian to ride with the termis. At 2k I take out the libby and add 10 more marines, leaving me 15 pts to toss a power wep on the priest. I sometimes cut the termis for a second furioso and jump priests to mix it up.

Its a fun, flexible list, and hits really, really, really hard. I once tabled our resident tau pro in 3 turns (which he then started a tyranid army cuz of and shelved the tau from that beating). Of course its most obvious weakness would be things like eldar. But it doesn't fear much else as the speeders and ravens are disposible tools to get my hitters where they are needed.

Terminators and the priest, id put the dread in one raven, meph in the other. I run meph and the dread together in one raven typically as meph can get tarpitted easily so the dread can dig him out if that happens
