After last night's blood bath in which two warith lords, one squad of wraith guard and some Dire Avengers with there farseer (24 models total) Wiped my 64 model IG gunline CLEAN OFF THE BOARD by the start of turn 5, I have decided to rethink my strategy.

What think ye of this?

Lots of plasma, lots of bodies to protect the plasma, the flamers and melta hide in the masses for a bit or hunt targets, while the plasma just shoots and shoots.

Thoughts? Advice?

blob(s) or single squads?

Either way thats a decent set up, though for what your paying for that executioner you could almost buy two standard russ'. In fact if you dropped your SWS's and sitched your PCS to 4 flamers, you could get two russ'.

Just a thought, though honestly, this list is nice! Rather scary in fact.

Be careful with that, I see one dreadnought getting into CC with that unit and youll quickly be bogged down while on the Commissar can hit him.

You've got to be really careful with this, though, because the commissar here is an independent character. If you have any way of putting a regular commissar in there, I would highly recommend.

Furthermore, this isn't really a gunline. 5 lascannons and 5 plasma cannons isn't actually all THAT much killing power at range, and close in you have the problem of everything but the blob being extremely susceptible to close combat. Furthermore, you're staking everything on a single unit, which is risky, and by risky I mean usually bad.

I'd break the infantry platoon in half and have a 30-man blob and a 20-man blob and sacrifice one of the SWSs to give you a PCS. That way you could drop the veterans and the one ultratank-of-bloat for, say, three nice ranged support options rather than a single one. Some power weapons as insurance against close combat wouldn't hurt either, especially since your army is rather weak against CC at the moment.

From the elf prospective, this list is dangerous, but if I can survive the fire or get the first shot the avengers will mow you down, and the wraithlord can easily roll you in assault.

Separating your squads will prevent getting tied up in assault with a wraithlord, which will kill you. If you can shoot them down you should be fine, but assume one might make it. Normal commissars would be helpful to hide power fists in units.

I assume the leman russ is for killing the wraithguard, but the LRBT can do the same job cheaper, and at further range. His only long ranged anti tank are his lords, and only 3' range. They can trash your single tank, so you need to stay out of that kill radius.
