Hi,
Putting together a themed assault list using the Blood Angels codex. Please comment on how you think it can be improved:-
HQ (125pts)
Librarian with jump pack (125pts)
Powers are likely to be unleash rage for the CC bump and ????
ELITES (365pts)
2 Sanguinary Priests with jump packs and 1 with meltabombs (155pts)
2 FNP / FC bubbles
Sanguinary Guard with a power fist (210pts)
TROOPS (710pts)
10 Assault marines with a thunder hammer and 2 meltaguns (240pts)
10 Assault marines with a power fist and 2 meltaguns (235pts)
10 Assault marines with a power fist and 2 meltaguns (235pts)
FAST ATTACK (300pts)
Landspeeder tornado with multi-melta (100pts)
Landspeeder tornado with multi-melta (100pts)
Landspeeder tornado with mulri-melta (100pts)
How do you think it will fare?

well I'd say, take the TH off the serg and give the other priest a M.bomb
dunno about MM on tornados (are they the missle ones? or if their the other type whats the other weapon?)
and for powers I'd say lance or shield
and I dunno about the guard, maybe try to fit in a baal or hvy pred (or 2) in if you could instead?

Thanks for your reply.
The thunder hammer is there as each assault squad is led by a limited edition miniature and he is the one from GD '08.
The speeders have MMs as with the typhoon missile launchers they give me some good AT though I had considered a HF instead for horde - thoughts?
Wanted to keep any tanks / transports out of the lust if possible.

alright, well I was just gunna say hvy flamer/MM speeders would do well
maybe drop the guard fore a few of those speeders?
like 2 squads of 2 of what you have now (maybe hvy bolter instead)
and maybe a squad of 2-3 hvy flamer to MM?

dropping the speeders to a mm/hf would first save you some points and deal with things that rely on cover saves. not to mention can dish out more wounds than the typhoon missile launcher if you do it right. as for the guard...there isnt anything wrong with them really its just you dont see people use them that often mainly because you cant increase the unit size. but they are still pretty good, its hard to pass up what they do for the points they cost. i would however try to give them 2 inferno pistols. it will help with anti tank and can put some much needed wounds on anything they plan on charging. now for the libby...id keep the power you have chosen and use shield of sang for the other. this will add some survival insurance to just about everything in range when caught out in the open. granted a 5+ cover can be difficult to make but at least you will still get a chance to make the save.
with the changes i proposed you should have about 60 pts left to play around with
other than that the list looks good over all.

In regards to the extra librarian power, you said you wanted rage, which is a close combat rule, you should probably go with sanguine sword for strength 10 goodness.

why have 2 melee powers? he can only use one per turn anyways, I would say shield cause you can use it on your turn, assault (and if he survives) use UR in their assault phase
or blood lance if you find a LR or a wall of vehicles

I was steering towards shield as my secondary power as well - thanks.
As for dropping the speeders to HF/MM that would save 90pts, what would I spend them on?
Also is the lack of range then a factor?
