To start off, first time poster- long time reader. Hope the community is as good as it seems!
Obviously, I play IG, and I will just cut into it and my usual enemies (just a couple buddies.)

I play against a Kan wall Orks and the usual corner camper with outflanking Kroot Tau.

2 CCS with 4 meltas/flamers in chimeras, master of ordnance
2 Vets with 3 meltas/flamers in chimeras
2 Vets to escort and cover chimeras with 3 flamers
Vets outlanking with harker 3 flamers (going for lootas 99%)
2 Leman Russes BC

This is basically my usual army, focusing on my love of my chimeras. I constantly mix around my army, and I'm up to any remarks on this probably terrible list.

Hi, I have a few comments that might be helpful to you.

First is why play 2 CCS? Dropping one might get you enough points to squeeze in another vet squad in a chimera. That is one more objective grabbing troop for your toolbox.

Are your escorting vets in chimeras? If not they certainly need to be. Guardsmen without vehicles are dead guardsmen.

And well, Harker. Infiltrate or outflank could be dicey depending on his placement of his troops, how close you can infiltrate and if you outflank if you come on the correct side of the board. You may find yourself out of flamer range on many of your attempts to bbq some lootas. If it was me I'd grab a Valkyrie or vendetta to put your flamer vets inside. Have the Valkyrie scout move or just zoom over to your target and drop off your vets, just make sure you can get close enough for a flamer template. You could even outflank with a Valkyrie and have far better mobility than just walking on the board. I think that would get you in better position for some flaming goodness. And a Valkyrie is a good horde killer to boot, shoot those punks with some multiple rocket pods while your at it.

I'm not sure about your points totals but my suggestions will probably make you have to search for more points. Maybe drop one CCS squad altogether?

When I started playing 40k I often played a friend's orks with my IG so I know how fun that match-up can be, so go out there and make some ork bacon out of his butt.

Thanks for the help!
I like to take 2 CCS because in chimeras they're cheaper than a vet, are a couple more orders, and can lay down a lot of firepower- also master of ordnance does amazingly well when dropped onto his rear armor battle wagon, almost always scatters into a squad of kans or his mobs of boys.
Sadly, I don't have a vendetta, or that would be my first choice. I feel confident outflanking with the vets because my storm troopers often have terrible rolls, even with the re-roll, and since his kan wall is in the front his lootas are forced to be extremely close to walls. As long as I land my outflanking, I'm confident 3 flamers can roast 7 or more of them.
Instead of the 2 vet escort would you recommend one in a chimera to lead it?
Again, thanks for the help! Happy slaying to you!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I've changed the list around a lot, here's what I've come up with for fighting the Ork player (the Tau player will have fewer tanks and men directly marching at him)

HQ
2 Chimeras with CCS, ordnance master, 4 flamers each---310

Troops
2 Chimera Vets 2 meltas 1 flamer each ---190
1 Vet+Harker+3meltas ---155
Platoon Command Squad ---30
2 Infantry Squads Grenade Launcher ---110
2 Heavy Weapon Squads Heavy Bolter ---130

Elites
2 Storm Troopers 2 flamers ---190
1 Storm Trooper 2 Grenade Launchers ---95

Heavy Support
2 Leman Russ Battle Cannons ---300

This should add up to 1510, correct me if I'm wrong on any points, and I'm confident can take a Kan Wall pretty well, for the Tau player I'm thinking of switching out those 2 chimera vets with more heavy bolter HWS, since long range AP4 destroys Tau. The 2 Chimera CCS will probably go to 1 with no upgrades and will be an armored command center, basically. Still searching for a cheap vendetta so that I can roll more things out! Happy hunting, all!
