Hey guys, I have read a bit on the site but not posted so much, but anyways, I have been playing 40k Orks now for a good 4 or 5 months and have collected a bit over 2300 points.
I have played in a few tournaments in my city and have done fairly well, placing 3rd out of 14 people and 4th out of 8 people (most recently)
Here is what I use currently in my most recent tournament. What do you guys think? I am trying to be a bit versatile as far as fighting different types of armies, and I do enjoy a bit of the shooty aspect (I know, wierd for Orks.)

I enjoy the Defkoptas with the rokkits because it allows me to swoop behind vehicals (coming from reserves) to possibly take them out. They are also good to surprise/harrass any units that have decided to stay near the table edge.
The same with the Kommandos. I just bought 3 packages of them and snikrot (geeze that wasn't cheap $$ wise) but I really enjoy the fact that Snikrot allows me to have them enter from any table edge. The burnas then really help to flame down the unit I plan on destroying before I then initiate the charge.
Both these things have proved fruitful, but I question whether I really need 14 kommandos with snikrot or not.

I usually position my trukks near my Mekboy trukk to give everyone the cover save (all depending on the situation of course in terrain/turn sequence/how they may set-up) but have found the Mekboy to be extremely effective.
The trukks and small units of orks work great too, moving 12 inches, pivoting, dumping out the orks, with their nob with his power klaw, jumping into the fray quickly, or just trying to blow up some vehical.
----
The bikes I enjoy quite a bit too, for their cover save and normal save, as well as survivability. They are a lot of fun
---
The 2 units of 5 lootas, why? Because I have extra elite choices, and it also allows me to split up the fire. It can be very nice having one unit of five shoot a vehical while the other unit of 5 shoots a unit, or perhaps a different vehical.

So what do you guys think? I was thinking about scrapping the 'ard case on my battlewagon and possibly the big shootas from the trukks, since I usually move 12 inches and can't shoot them. I would like to shave off enough fat to fit in another 3 killa kanz with the same weapon set-up I currently have for my others. It shouldn't be too difficult if I scrap maybe 1 biker, the 'ard case from the battlewagon, big shootas from the orks and maybe a few other fluffs.
Do you feel my army is well-rounded? Perhaps able to be versatile enough to fight any type of 40k army I may come up against? I understand there are different ork army "strategies" like Kan wall, or all biker boyz, or whatever, but I like to go outside cookie cutter armies and build one more my style.
Any advice, criticism or praise would be great! Thanks a lot everyone!
