This is a little alteration of the list that MWG Dave made, how do you think it stacks up?

I was thinking the same thing except with shield and sword, think that would work as well?

Also would replacing the priests with a unit of guard be good? Because I feel like with the amount of models I have, the FnP and FC become less necessary

No i think Rage and shield are far superior. If you send the assault marines into troops it becomes pretty much useless, you also have the powerfist and meltaguns if you go for tanks

Correct me if I'm wrong but you need 10 models to have 2 melta guns, I'm guessing it's 9 + Sarge

Yeah its 9 marines and a sarge for a total of ten. So the squads are all legal, but another concern. Would Sanguinary Guard be better than the Sanguinary Priests? Maybe a unit with the Librarian attached would be good for destroying big tough HQs/MCs

Sanguinary Priests are a must. 45 Marines is not that many. I'd also suggest spending less on the Predators, for two reasons. One, they give convenient, expensive targets to your enemy's anti-tank weapons. It will get really painful when you lose them, and there isn't anything else to draw fire. Second, triple Lascannon Predators don't have good synergy with the rest of the list, which wants to be in your face. If the plan is to move the Marines up behind an armored wall, keep in mind you can't fire everything if you move 6" or more.

So, in keeping with the theme of the list, I'd suggest swapping the Preds for Vindicators, which mesh a lot better with the rest of the army. Even better would be trading them for Devastators, but I'm trying to keep to the theme.

The reason I put in the preds was actually to take care of enemy vindicators, leman russes, etc, before they could land their close range shots on my troops. Because by the time I can get my meltas within 12" of a vindicator, it will have shot me at least twice, and most marine units can't handle 2 demolisher shots. Also, predators are the main tank that our group is using so far, so I figured that throwing in my own couldn't hurt
