Hey guys, getting back into Warhammer 40k now that summer is here and I'm out of school. Here a list I was thinking about. What do you think?

HQ:

Librarian: 165 points
Quick Silver, Might, Shrouding, sword

Elites:

Techmarine: 110 points
Conversion Beam, (in the one of the chimeras)


Troops:

Grey Knight Terminator Squad: 300 points
Psycannon, 1 hammer, 4 halberds, psybolt ammo, Chimera

Grey Knight Terminator Squad: 300 points
Psycannon, 1 sword, 1 hammer, 3 halberds, psybolt ammo, Chimera

Grey Knight Terminator Squad: 300 points
Psycannon, 1 sword, 1 hammer, 3 halberds, psybolt ammo, Chimera

Psycannon, 2 hammers, 3 halberds, psybolt ammo, Chimera

What do you think? Could I play competitively with this?

Terminators can't take Chimeras...Only Inquisitorial Warbands.

You could try doing this by having 3 lots of 3 henchmen with (eg.) meltaguns taking chimeras, and 3 units of terminators taking razorbacks with psyammo. Then they swop rides.

Terminators can't take Razorbacks either...

well, other than the transport mix up, why do you have coteaz?

1) Coteaz, not Cortez.

2) Why bother with the Chimeras since you cannot ride in them?

3) What gear on your terminators other than one psycannon? This list could work with some tweaking such as removing chimeras and loading out your terminators effectively-like a hammer or something.

4) Not sure what you need Coteaz in this list for. Why not try a techmarine or an inquisitor with rad/psychotroke grenades or something for similar points value?

5) Drop psybolt on librarian; it's just two shots. I'd suggest changing that halberd to a sword or stave for invuln in CC. Don't bother with Master Crafted either. You could switch shrouding for vortex if you want something like a S10 blast. Just some ideas.

6) It sounds as if you haven't read the codex if you don't know his name or the fact that they cannot ride in Chimeras; I suggest reading it and playing what sounds cool to you after an honest read!

actually, terminators CAN ride in chimera's, just only 6 can fit it.

its surprising how many people get that wrong, terminators can only not ride in rhino's or razorback's, and take up 2 slots in everything else.


EDIT: and the OP may have thought he needed coteaz to be able to buy chimera's

Thank you for pointing it out terminators can ride in chimeras! Many people do get it wrong. I thought I needed cortez for the chimeras. What should I take instead of him?

oh no no no....

terminators can RIDE in chimeras, but they cannot buy the chimeras for themselves, the only units in the codex that can are henchman squads.

EDIT: why not try something (legal) like this?

Grand master - sword, blind nades, melta bombs - 185

libby - sword, might of titan, sanctuary - 160

terminators - 10 man, 2x psycannons, 3x sword (one justicar), 1x hammer, 5x halberd - 475

terminators - 10 man, 2x psycannons, thawn, 3x sword, 2x hammer, 5x halberds - 525

dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

Look at the Terminator entry under dedicated transports, now look at henchmen...let me know if you don't see the difference.

If you read page 90 of the grey knight codex, it says "Dedicated Transport: An inquisitorial Henchmen Warband can select any dedicated transport."
So warbands can select chimera as transport, now let us move to page 91.
