Hi, I want to start Tyranids (I’ve already played some games with friends proxying my army). Now I want to buy the models and I’ve made some lists but I don’t have the experience. I really enjoy making list as you can see and I want all lists to be competitive so my question is could this work?
My 2000 pts list will be my main list because I like this point limit the most, so if you don’t want to read all lists just comment on this one

Some general thoughts:
I really like the Swarmlord because he is a unit that can deal with nearly any unit in CC that is not too big and with adding one Tyrant Guard he gets, if played right, a 4+ cover. So statistically you have to wound the Swarmlord 13 times to kill him.

I don’t use any Zoanthropes because I want my list to be prepared for everything. Against Eldar or armys that can block psychic powers I have enough problems so I can’t effort a, for it’s point cost, useless unit. 3 Zoanthropes with a spore pot cost 70 points more and are two easy kill points. They are just good against av 13/14 but to destroy these tanks in most cases I have to shock them near to enemy lines which will destroy them after they potentially destroyed one tank.
As far as I know land raiders and Monoliths are the only two tanks with av 14 all around and if they stay away from me I ignore them. If not … my MCs will have fun

I’am not a fan of Tyranofex and Trygon. I don’t really need the Trygon, I prefer sticking with the Swarmlord. The Tyrannofex is very expensive for two strength 10 shots and he doesn’t do anything else so I just take him if all my other slots are full.

I always use Venomthropes in my lists because their cover is really, really nice and for example if you play Orks, how do you deal with a unit of 5 point models with a 5+ save with defensive grenades counter-attack and Toxin sacs (not to mention the dangerous terrain test when they get attacked)

I don’t have any warriors or other T4 models in my lists because not only they can easily shot down but they also have serious trouble against any unit that contains a power fist, they can’t wipe out in the first round of assault.

Deployment:
The Swarmlord, the two Troop Tervigons, the Venomthropes and both Termagant Broods are deployed in the middle of my deployment zone, all at least with one model within six inches of the Venomthropes (one Termagant Brood on the left and one on the right side). The Tyrant Guard hides behind a Tervigon so he and the Swarmlord get a 4+ cover save. The Hive Guards hide in the Termagant Broods for cover and the Genestealers stay in reserve to outflank. The last Tervigon stays near to one short table edge where my Genestealers will arrive. He should be in some sort of cover because otherwise he is the only MC without cover and will get shot.

Tactic:
The main idea of this army is to support the Termagants as good as I can and make them little monsters in CC and combine that with some fearsome units.
I know it’s not a fast army and I don’t have many anti-tank units but eventually my MCs will help a little bit if I stun or immobilize something. And Hive Guard with 4+ cover and Feel no pain are not easy to kill.
If my opponent has some low strength long range weapons I cast Feel no Pain on the Venomthropes and the remaining Feel no pain on the Hive Guards. So if my opponent wants to kill the Venomthropes he has to shoot it with strength 8 weapons.
The Tervigon on the side will run up to cast feel no pain on the arriving Genestealers which even if they don’t make it in CC will be tough to kill.
The Genestealers should either scare the opponent away from the short table edge or he will get assaulted. This is important because I want to keep my main army as long as I can all together.
I gave my Tervigons Crushing Claws because other than my Swarmlord I have no power weapons to kill units like Plague Marines. With the support of my Swarmlord (Paroxysm + Preferred Enemy) the Tervigon gets a really fearsome CC-monster which makes him even better than he already is
Regeneration makes the Tervigons a very expensive unit but I want to make it as hard as I can to kill them because if they die I’am lost but if they don’t die my opponent has a problem. With the cover save a Tervigon has a chance to survive even concentrated shooting and if he does he can perhaps regain a wound hide behind cover to get a 4+ and cast Feel no pain on him to deny the kill.
I always add a brood lord to the Genestealers because he adds a bit more survivability. If it really comes down to a fight were the missing seven attacks wipe out the attacked squad I would rather prefer to stay in combat. Also denying some attacks is good when I have to attack through cover.

Tactics:
Because I can’t give the Genestealers Feel no Pain I play two small squads, which will flank the enemy. The Tyranid Prime joins the Venomthrops so it’s difficult to istant kill them and it’s a good CC-unit too.

Tactics:
I think this is the only point limit I can play this list because if the Tyrant is killed to early with such a list I’am lost. But with Feel no Pain on the first turn and a point limit 750 the opponent won’t kill the Tyrant too fast.

Tactics:
Because of the point limit the opponent won’t have much high strength weapons so I think warriors are a good choice. I also can put single strength 8 wounds on the Tyranid Prime.

So this are my lists and my thoughts right now. I don't know if this is competitive or what i should change so any comments are appreciated
