I noticed on many of the posts here people are always ready to jump on poor QC from GW. I am looking at you finecast, but other companies are always ignored when they are guilty of poor QC. I want to take this time to complain about Privateer Press who not only charge 134.99 for a model, but do not give you all the parts needed.

Sorry, I am just kind of bitter as I want to be able to play with a model, but since I am missing parts I am unable.

So... want to elaborate? What parts are missing and from what model? I'm guessing the Stormwall?

Did you contact them?

Took them just a week to email me missing parts from a kit.

send them an email. They are pretty good about parts replacement. They have a contact form on their website.

I have heard an abnormal number of reports from people missing parts from their stormwall kits. I'm a PP fan but I won't deny there is an apparent lapse in quality control for that kit. The first wave anyway -I haven't heard about problems with the second wave with the fully metal feet.

It was Stormwall, and I was shorted the stat cards. The parts seem to be complete.

I have heard of people missing a part or two from their stormwall kit (one was missing the main torso). But Really contact PP and they will post you the card. It doesn't excuse them for them forgetting it in the first place but you are lucky that they card has already been posted all over the internet.

Did you contact Privateer Press?

Is Stormwall in the books? If so then you can always use that to play while waiting on the replacement. Missing cards don't really keep you from being able to play.

The fact that other companies don't get as many public complaints doesn't mean that QC issues on their products are ignored... You're by no means the first to complain about PP.

The lesser number of complaints about companies other than GW is smply due to a combination of smaller customer base, and fewer issues. Although to be fair, in some cases the latter is directly linked to the former.

As with GW, customer service of PP is top notch and excellent. FLGS forgot to put the proper unit card into a blister? Got them in the mail free of charge from PP. Did a mail order with them and got the wrong minis? Keep the wrong ones, here are the right ones.

Missing parts happen sometimes. Stop making such a big deal out of it before attempting to rectify it.

Send them an email. If they don't reply within say 5-7 working days then by all means cry on a forum, but until then, take it as a genuine mistake, which I assume it was. No one at your distro went "we might not like this guy, let's not give him the card with his miniature".

Granted most of my calls to GW and PP have gone something like this,

They've always been quite fast about getting things in order.

Missing part email, get replaced. But, how dose a miss part equal getting the part and it have a hole right through the face.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I have never had an issue with PP customer service. I've had missing cards before. Called them, they ask for where I picked up the model, and the little number from the packing slip / little piece of paper. Then they mail it out. The longest I had to wait was 2 weeks.

As for the cost of the colassals... they are basically on par with most GW Forgeworld prices.
Basically your paying for a model that most of the community views as "optional" for competitive
play in the 35-50 pt range, your also paying for what you get, those model are huge.

That is impressive on so many levels. GW needs to get on that technology!

Sorry, couldn't resist. But yeah, I've heard that the Stormwall seems to have a few bits missing sometimes from the first wave. I've never had a problem with replacement parts, though, they seem to be pretty good at getting them out to you asap.

Looking for fun articles on painting, tactics and wargaming? Are you after a new regular blog to follow? Are you a bit bored with nothing better to do?

If the answer to any of the above is 'well, I guess' you could probably do worse than read my blog! Regular wargaming posts, painting and discussions

If you want it faster, I would skip that step and go straight to Mispack.privateerpress.com

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

Ive had a Missing Temple flameguard in the box.

I didn't have to call, or talk to someone.

I filled out a form on their website, and i got my part the following week.

While not a QC issue per se, I do not enjoy some of their plastic casting techniques. They put channels for the plastic in really bad places. Sharp edges, flat surfaces, etc. These are almost always deformed by their process that removes models from the sprue, or causes sinkholes in the flat surfaces.

Minor things, but I think there are some justifiable complaints about PP casting process.

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

OP never did post about actually contacting PP, almost seems like this was a thread surely to complain and not seeking for a solution.

I completely agree. I have bought two parts from Privateer Press and both have been mispacked. The Cryz battlegroup had Agathas head sliced in half and a the Deathjack I ordered next had two left legs. They do replace it but it typically takes 2-3 weeks. I am honestly very disapointed with them from a company standpoint they don't have a 800 number and their customer service is only available 9-5 M-F. I know it seems a little impatient but when you order kits and pay a premium for them you don't expect the process to take a month to complete. I will likely be moving on if this happens again.
