I assume that everyone who visits this particular forum dropped some money on the kickstarter. My budget took a serious hit, especially as the stretch goals started piling up. In the end, I picked up the 1,000 point Orc army, the add-on Goblin army and one BOGOF Orc chariot. Plus, of course, all the bonus figs which I will add to my already existing armies. How about the rest of you?

Now showing more Samurai Marines, Bad Squiddo Amazons, and an Oldhammer Chaos Thug!

feth knows!

I got the $225 big ass army, and i'm led to believe they are mostly plastic, but some have metal arms/weapons.

Is there a preference? I get the impression that experienced modellers prefer plastic to resin, though It seems to make little difference to me.

I use to think that Mantic sales the Abyssal Dwarves to a higher price because they have metal and plastic components. Anyone knows about this?

Yes mate, mine, the AD and the TK were all called "premium" cos they had metal in. The 1000 pt armies were 50 bucks more.

I went for the small $95 goblin army,
The limited ed. Vampiress,
1 of each of the 4 Celestian infantry units, (didn't want the cat cavalry.)
And a single unit of both the Mummies and Gargoyles for my undead army.

I also threw in an Extra $50 just in case they added a few new stretch goals while i was sleeping. (the campaign ended at around 5am local time.) So i still need to decide what exactly i want purchase with that money.

I went for the 1000 point undead army since the Vampiress was a freebie. Then all the stretch goals started piling up and added the werewolves and mummies. Now, I am seriously considering changing it to an Orc army because of the amount of dice I would get to roll with the orclings and the strech goals gave us the Trolls. Also, the WIP Orc wizard is a freebie. So, I am kind of torn.

I went for the 2x1000pts since this way I will be able to convince some people to play with me. I also pledge 3x$25 for the 2 for ones just need to decide what I will get in the end. Probably a box of mummies, Goblin Fleabag Riders and Goblin Mincer. although I don't really know enough of the game to know if they will variety to the armies I am getting or not

For what I am reading here Mantic is still getting support from the community even with the release of the 6th edition of 40K.

Well, I have been playing 40K for 25 years now (i.e. since RT was first released). Apart from the rulebook, there is absolutely nothing I need to buy.

Got the £175 reward, and picking up Undead, plus all the bits and bobs. I gave up WHFB about 15 years ago, but still have a lot of Warhammer stuff floating around.

I'm hoping that all the extra models will find their way into some big, hybrid Undead and 'Evil Human' armies that I can use in both KoW and WHFB.

Also, it would be great to add a poll to this question - see how many people picked up what. I went for Undead because I already have a ton of bits. If the option was there I might have gone for Celestians. It would be good to know if EVERYONE is playing Undead/Orcs, or if there was a good spread of different armies chosen.

Just a quick question to which army do the trolls belong to? I can't find them in any of the army lists.

Correct. I believe it was mentioned in one of the comments that the bogies are now trolls. They are in the Orc lists but I would think they will be included in the Goblin list also.

I used two different Kickstarter Accounts.

Pledge 1 = $225
$225 Goblin reward

Pledge 2 = $330
$275 2 army deal - Undead and Orcs
+ BOGOF Ogre Shooters
+ 2 extra sets of 10 dice
+ 2 sets of wound markers
+ $5 for rulebook late shipping (so I can have a copy with my name in it)

This way I got two sets of all freebies, and I chose Ogres w/ Hand Weapons in the survey for both pledges. That'll give me two sets of HW Ogres and two sets of shooty Ogres. One rulebook arriving soon, and one rulebook arriving later w/ my name in it, and a buncha dice (since KOW uses a ton of dice) and a buncha wound markers.

I then ordered a bunch of custom trays from www.warbases.co.uk as they make 5x2 movement trays with circles for you to plug in Mantic figures. 100x40mm for normal and 125x50mm for orcs. They also varied the hole placement to create a more horde-like effect for my armies. 5x2 is perfect so I can base my units for Troops (10 figures), Regiments (20 figures in 5x4) or Hordes (40 figures in 10x4) as per the Kings of War army lists.

Yeah, I'm excited. Used to play WHFB from 5th through 7th but they lost me on 8th. KoW rules are super easy and super fun and take no time to play a giant game, which works better for me, as I have much less free time nowadays Go Mantic!

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... I got 2x1000pts Undead army + 2x20 mummies, with all the extras coming it will really add to the pile.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

Plus a further $125 that went towards some BOGO stuff-more ogres, trolls and chariots. Beyond that, I got all the goodies that went with the $225 level, as I put in $235.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
