Stealthy Dark Angels Scout with Shotgun

Hi, I'm very new to the whole miniature thing and I'm getting my first few Marines soon as a trial run and I don't know where else to ask this but if I buy a normal tactical squad pack or Assault Squad, do they have insignias on them or do they have to be painted on? Sorry if I put this in the wrong place.

You know Warhammer is getting to real when you being using 40K swears, for example "fug" and "Emperors Hairy Arse!" When writing this the word arse was not recognized, well done.

Hi LumbarGibbon and welcome to Dakka!

Regarding your question: yes, you need to paint them. If you need any hints & tips on painting or modelling in general, then this forum is the right place for you! Check out the Painting and Modelling sections.

All the best!

Thanks, wanting to build Dark Angels army, would be a bit embarrassing them all having Blood Angel or Ultramarine logos on them. Thanks.

There is a painting starter kit out there with Dark Angel Icons moulded on the minis you get inside. If you buy this though you'll not be getting the top range plastics but the snap fit dudes. If you're after DA shoulder pads with icons then maybe purchase a DA veteran kit too. Failing that there are plenty of bits stores online that you could check out. My favourites are,

the supply drop
bitz box
model bits

They should be able to help you out if painting the icons is a step too far early on.

Welcome to dakka.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...
