Subject: Building a Better Suit - Attempt #2 (Gerbera Pattern Crisis Suit)

Hi, Some of you might remember I started a post a loooong while back about scratch-building a better Crisis Suit. Well, after about two weeks of struggling and sanding, I gave up on it. The suit was growing to monstrous proportions, and it wasn't going anywhere fast. About a week ago, I found this on the web http://mechamaniac.com/v-web/gallery/gerberatetraplus . And just yesterday, I spent some time chopping up and reassembling a crisis suit with some minor changes, and I must say it turned out quite well IMHO. Crisis suit, Gerbera Pattern GO! (cue cheesy anime music). This guy is built entirely with parts coming from one Crisis suit, no bits box, only some styrene for the white areas, and LOTs of SGT for the gaps. Comments and criticisms welcomed.

More pics! Please give us more pics! And I'd mail you one of my fingers if you'd do a tutorial on how to make that bad boy (templates gets you a second finger!).

I knew my Zeon Tau wouldn't be alone!
Great suit to pattern your crisis after, and a great job in the execution!
I though you were going for the Gera-Doga when I first read the title: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN23036

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

SGT basically means "Super Glue Talc". It is a cheap, but effective filler, consisting of super glue and talcum powder.
Sweet job on that suit btw.. a team of them would be SWEET!

Hmm... been getting lots of flak for this over on Tau Online, but there's good comments as well. Heh. Anyway, I did the templates for the suit, I myself might need copies. I'll post a detailed tutorial next time. For now, I expect a finger from Drake. PM me for my address The picture is full size, print at 100%.
