Howdy guys. This is my first tentative attempt at an NL list. I'm aiming for 1000pts, but have hit only 936 so far. Here she is:

Total = 936

-The CSM squads are 8 and 9 models apiece because of modelling constraints: I'm going to build both out of a box of CSM's and another of Blood Claws, so that I get nice chainswords and more armour variants.

-Please note, this is not meant to be a competitive list, just something for me to build a modelling project around.

-Have I gone a bit crazy with the Plasma's? I'm tempted to work in some flamers to sort out any armies that have large units.
-There's another 64 points left. Spend them as you see fit. I'm tempted by a couple more Raptors, to make the unit a back up CC squad, or am also split as to whether I should give the Lord a jumppack, but it seems pretty useless when combined with this list. I leave this to your tender hands.

Try giving your Lord speed, since you have the points. Infiltrate plus speed pretty much guarantees first turn assault. Or maybe, for fluff/modelling purposes, give him Flight (and maybe Visage) to pal around with the Raptors. You also still have the points left over to give a couple of melta guns to each of the CSM squads. Let's see...I think Dem. Speed on the Lord plus 4 Melta guns for the CSM squads would come to around 55 points. Check my math, but that might work pretty decently. Alternately, if you really like your plasma guns, you can use plasma guns in the CSM squads for the same cost as the Melta guns.

Modeling is great. I've done massive conversions for my Night Lords list, including raptors with their feet on the ground so they don't fall over if you squint at them (based of Khorne berserkers), furies that don't make you want to hurl (based of of daemonettes) and others.

However...you can do some stuff to seriously increase your armies tabletop potential.

I'd suggest using the following list (which I made, based off of yours).

Lieutenant, paired lighning claws, daemonic flight, frag grenades, infiltrate (111)
Aspiring Champion /w power fist, bolt pistol; 2 CSMs /w plasma pistol, ccw; 5 CSMs /w bp, ccw; stealth adept, infiltrate (192)
Aspiring Champion /w power fist, bolt pistol; 2 CSMs /w plasma pistol, ccw; 5 CSMs /w bp, ccw; stealth adept, infiltrate (192)
