So with the Kickstarter done and new products like the single player starter sets coming out, I'm wondering which two player starter set has the current rules in it?

OR

OR
Both? Neither?
And if I get one of the Mhorgoth Rising sets through a local store, is it likely to have the beta/v1.0 rules rather than the current ones? I have the PDF of the latest rules, but I figured I may as well get a printed copy of them if I get a starter set.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

The 2-player set will definitely have the latest rules.
No idea about Mhorgoth Rising though, especially if its sold via a local store, it'll probably have the v2 rules in it.

Mhorgoth Rising has the previous rules in it.
The one with Undead versus Orcs/Goblins is the v.3/latest version.

Thanks guys!
I talked with a gaming buddy and it looks like we're just going to go with the single player starters as he wants Dwarves and I want Elves. I could see doing Undead at some time in the future as well.

Good choices, too.
Honestly, the hard cover book is best value for the rules. It's got all the full army lists; the full rules including siege and campaign; and it's sturdier than the soft cover.
Any time I pick up a copy of the soft cover, I give it away to a potential or confirmed new player to tide 'em over
