A Force weapon-wielding, steroidal maniac of a Librarian strikes out at a helpless li'l Slaaneshi Lord, who took his combat drugs that morning. What happens? The Combat Drugs allow the Lord to ignore "the first unsaved wound taken in this Assault phase as long as it does not cause 'instant death'." "Instant Death," so far's I can tell, is limited to S >= 2xT situations. Thoughts? Can a Force Weapon be used to kill a model, even though the wound is "ignored"?

The Combat Drugs prevent the wound.

Although there are more ways to inflict "Instant Death" besides S>=2xT (the Eldar Wraithcannon does it automatically on a roll of a '6'), the Force Weapon is not one of these.

Although a Force Weapon can "kill a model outright", there is absolutely no reference to it causing instant death. It performs a similar function, but is ultimately not "Instant Death".

Not exactly my point. Sure, the combat drugs "ignore" the wound. But, as I recall, a Force weapon only requires an unsaved wound, in order to trigger the "kill model outright" ability. "Ignored" isn't a defined game term, but, by definition, the drugs also only trigger on an unsaved wound.

(Or am I remembering crooked? Book isn't at hand. If the Force Weapon actually requires that a wound be inflicted, the discussion is over.)

Ignoring the wound means there is no wound to record against the model, therefore I would say 'no' and that the Librarian's Force Weapon would not be considered to have 'successfully' wounded the model when the time comes for the test to kill is taken.

Can you D.I.G. it?
