I'm going to have a real Blackwater Gulch booth at GenCon 2013. The plan is to have a couple of small demo boards for people that want to try out a quick game. I'll be running demos personally, and would love to have some help from other folks that would like to demo the game.

The Blackwater Gulch booth will be right next to the main Game Salute booth, so if you would like to demo the game, you can sign up as a Game Salute Game Ambassador here:
http://gamesalute.squarespace.com/ambassador/

As a reward, you will get store credit to get free minis and depending on how long help out, you could even get your whole convention badge paid for They also provide you with a special T-shirt, I'm planning to get custom shirts for BWG made too for anyone that helps out.

Just starting to plan things out now, but I'll be there for the full duration.. Wednesday - Sunday. I'll keep positing here as new details become available but feel free to reply, PM or email if you're interested in helping out

Would love to, but Gen Con weekend is my wife's birthday!

Will there be any type of program for gamers willing to demo and support the game at their local shops?

I don't know actually, I'll have to ask Game Salute about that. I think I read that they do that for some games so they probably have some kind of demo program going.

You should see about doing some demos at Adepticon. A convention full of mini wargamers would be a great place to show off your mini game.

I'm not sure how GameSalute does the scheduling but I doubt you would have to slave too much You could probably do a few hours here and a few hours there. I'm going to need folks to help out in the main booth, but also if you want to run some kind of official game event in the gaming areas I think that would count too.

I'd like to do Adepticon but I only have the budget for 1 con, so I figured GenCon would be the best bet. I hope to do both the following year though

Aw man, the one time I can't make it to GenCon :( Still, it means I'll be able to buy a house, so I guess it's not all bad.

I'll have to make it up to myself by running some demos at our local con in early 2014. I would do it this year, but I've only just received my first gang and would rather wait for the R&R gangs to arrive first.

Working out some of the details with Game Salute now. Gonna change up some stuff. Probably not going to be getting an actual dealer floor booth, because those are hella-expensive. Instead I'll be set up in a semi-perminent space in the gaming hall, in Game Salute's area.. so it will probably be the board game area, not the miniatures area.

I'll be running demo games for up to 4 players at a time (or more if we have the space. still deciding between 2 1-on-1 games, or 1 2-on-2 team game. These demos will be 1 hour block events that people have to sign up for, not just show up and play like last year. Most likely going from around noon (I sleep late) till around 5 PM. And then, 6-8 PM friday and saturday night I'll be hosting an 8 player 4-on-4 gang war team game.

For the team games, you can sign up with your friends, or if you're solo I can assign you to a team. I will have all of the models to play, but anyone that brings their own painted 5-man gang of BWG miniatures will get extra points The game will take place on an 8' x 2' board probably with a train going down the middle. Each player gets a 5 man starter gang and there will be victory points based on who you kill, plus objectives on the board you can collect for extra points. Whatever gang is left standing at the end wins, but whoever has the most points is the overall winner. Still don't know what the prizes will be like but I'll see what Game Salute can put together.. maybe store credit? Or a golden gatling gun?

Anyway, already heard from a couple folks but volunteers will still be helpful
