Boosting Black Templar Biker

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to run this poll to see how people's gaming groups have changed since 6th edition was released. I know in my area, the number of regular 40k players has dropped off pretty significantly, though I do not think 6th edition was necessarily the reason for this. Feel free to post comments in addition to answering the poll.
Note, by "size of your gaming group" I mean the number of people who meet regularly to play 40k specifically, not tabletop games in general.

We've had more.
I don't think any of the players that were still around at the end of 5th left when 6th came out, and we got a small surge of people who had gotten tired of 5th ed, and had decided to come back in when the new rules came out.

Enh, about the same. But I only play with my mom, so the number of players never changes, but the number of games do.
There was a major dropoff in games after September 2011, because all the complaints about the Sisters of Battle Codex finally got to me and ruined my enjoyment of WH40k in general to the point where I largely avoided Dakka and went from playing 4-5 games a month to playing 4-5 in the following YEAR, until December 2012, when I came to Dakka for the first time in months specifically to find a thread to read/share griping about Sororitas. I found one on the front page, and to my utter shock and amazement, found a post in it that gave me that spark back, and reminded me of why I was happy with what the WD dex contained until the constant complaints got to me.
Since then, I've started a couple of games that didn't make it past turn 1 because I wanted to change my list mid-game (keep in mind, the first turn and setup of a game usually takes an amount of time equivalent to my mom's entire downtime in a weekday, and I have all day free to browse Dakka, think about possible changes to my list, etc., and we don't play every night or even every other night, so it's not like I'm playing one turn, see that I'm losing, and decide to reset with a more advantageous list).
The current game that's set up is on turn 3.
So overall, I'd say it's about the same as 5th.

Somewhat the same before the new edition came out. But is has to be noted we all agree on that 6th makes for much more fun. And it also made a few new people join us

We've had a steady increase in people, but I'm not sure how much that has to do with 6th, rather than the environment.
There's only two real gaming groups in the region, one of which charges people $30 a month to play with them, and has a WAAC tendency, and ours, which is neither. There's been a gradual trickle of people away from there, and our FLGS has cheaper prices, so it encourages new people to stay there, and older players wanting to relax tend to gravitate our way.
What 6th has done, however, is encouraged a number of people to diversify their armies; previously almost everyone was loyalist or crons, with a few diehard Chaos. Now chaos is pretty common, one Tau player has retired his BA for them, and overall everyone's moving away from MEQ Loyalists. I, for one, am totally ok with that.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Definitely increased. At the end of 5th almost everyone had a space wolf, iG, or GK army. They were what won tournies, and thats all anyone used. People got bored playing them, and many stopped coming by.
Within a month of 6th, I saw every army you could imagine and people who, according to the vets, hadn't show up in years. Now almost every weekend there's a good sized group of players to choose from, unless there's a UK game

I started playing when the 6th edition came out. A bunch of my buds I work with were into the 4th and 5th editions and had stopped playing. When they heard the 6th edition was out they raced to get it and checked out the new rules. There were 3 of them to begin with and the number of players has more than tripled to 10. I play Orks with a detachment of Tau, we have a full on Tau player, another full on Ork player, Tyranids, Chaos Demons, Space Wolves, Space Marines, Necrons, Imerpial Guard and Chaos Space Marines. Having so many players and each choosing a different race I feel is a major boost to the game here since we can all see the other armies and what they are capable of and each game is different. We are talking about doing 'Campaign' style which seems really fun.

I started in 5th, but didn't buy anything until 6th, my friends told me to hold off just in case. We've had 2 people join our garage group and they seemed hooked. To bad our garage isn't heated so 40k is a spring/summer/fall hobby. We use the winter time to paint. Spring rolls around and its like a whole new game.
I like 6th, I don't care what you say. I guess its the equivalent of people hating 4th edition D&D. I could totally relate to that.

In 5th we had 20-30+man tournaments now we had a league that was 11 man and no tournament went over 22 people .

My gaming group has increased in numbers since 6th ed 40k dropped - unfortunately, the number of 40k players dropped off (they just switched to Fantasy or Infinity for their SF fix). Most of them STILL have their armies, but just stopped playing the game for an edition (I did this for much of 2nd ed - but not because the rules sucked, it was because I was having more fun going out and chasing women of flexible virtue).
Majority of this group only started with 4th ed 40k.
(Two of us remember 2nd ed and only I played RT.).

Eh, I haven't seen much. Then again, I came in at the VERY end of 5th (like, a month or two before 6th dropped) so I can't say how big our group was
