so as the title says has anybody seen some good results out of the harpteks? im planning on testing them out in a game tomorrow and seeing how they fair but the only real problem i see is that you just cant bring enough of them to do anything significant when you could just get 3 and 2/3 of a scarab swarm for the same price

Yep. They are great at wasting your and your opponents time with shooting attacks that don't really do very much other than potentially make a mech-heavy list bearer mildly nervous at best. You may occasionally pop a rhino, but that is about it.
I'd go so far as to say that the are the worst kind of cryptek weapon that is available.

ya i think it would be a great threat if it was more available like with lanceteks or stormteks but then again necrons dont need more matt warding the only thing that needs matt ward is his precious little cheese knights

it would be interesting if an entire royal court could take one, volume of fire should make it a unit your opponent must be concerned about. As it is though, just the two of them (at best) laughably plinking away at things is about as harmful as a light summer breeze.

Even worse than the Harbinger of Eternity's fail stick?

Nope.
The aeon stave while useless in and of itself is
A) Free
B) The chronometron is one of the best wargear items in the game, and having the fail-stick allows you to take it.
The harp makes you actually pay extra to suck more, which is almost offensive in it's lack of utility.

I like them, and stripping off AV to make it easier for my lances has helped me a fair bit, but I don't aim for complete competativeness and one of the main reasons I have them is because it fits my fluff, so YMMV. In a competative environment, you're probably better off leaving them at home.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
