Our local store organised a Mega Tournament and it was attended by about 24 people. I attended with Wood Elves using the following list:

Spellweaver Level 4 with 1 Dispel Scroll

Spellsinger Level 2 with 2 scrolls

Spellsinger Level 2 with Calaingor's Stave

Battle Standard Bearer with Annoyance of Netlings

10 Glade Guard

10 Glade Guard

8 Dryads

8 Dryads

5 Wild Riders

8 Wardancers

Treeman

Treeman

First Battle vs Lizardmen- he had Oldblood with 18 inch move and various magic items, Scar Veteran on cold one with seven cold one knights with him, 2 Level 2 Priests, 3 Salamanders, 5 units of 10 skinks, 4 Kroxigors, 2 units of 3 Terradons, 1 Stegadon.

Well first off let me say how good Calaingor's Stave is as I deployed most of my army in two forests which by the end of the game had travelled all over the place. The only units I left out were the Glade Guard and Wild Riders.

Glade Guard in three turns killed a unit of Terradons, one Kroxigor, two units of skinks and six cold one knights. Not bad.

One unit was run down by a charge of Terradons and Scar Veteran on cold one and accompanying Stanrd Bearer. the Wild Riders pranced around a lot and suddenly they spotted the Oldblood in a unit of 5 skinks they charged killed all skinks and the Oldblood killed one wild Rider, he was ounumbered by a fearcausing enemy and so was run down.

I overloaded the other side of table with rest of my army and combination of Treeman's terror tests and Strangle Roots killed off one priest, two units of skinks and the Salamnders. I ended up taking 2 quarters in what was a very enjoyable game.

Win for the Wood Elves- 17-3

Second Game vs Empire

He had Elector Count on Horse with 7 Knights of White Wolf, Captain on Horse with Seven Knights, 2 level two mages, Hellblaster, cannon, mortar, 2 units of ten handgunners, 1 unit of ten crossbowmen, Unit of about 20 halberdiers and Steamtank.

I got Master of Stone on my level 4 and he had to deploy on a side with three hills . He was not taht happy about it and when all of my army went into two forests except fro Glade Guard and Wild Riders he was not a happy fellow.

The Glade Guard were killed by Steam Tank which I ignored. the Wild Riders came up from one flank charged a unit of Handgunners, overran into the cannon and then into the crossbowmen. They were then blasted away by a Conflagration of Doom.

Meanwhile by Turn Two the forests were on the other side of table.

This meant Terror tests in abundance and saw his Hellblasters and unit of halberdiers beat it off the table. Starngle Roots accounted for bringing both knightly units to below half strength. A successful Call of the Hunt saw one of the Treeman charge into the mortar.

Last turn a Strangleroot of 8 failed in killing off one of the mages who was on foot. Got two quarters.

Victory of 17-3 for the Wood Elves.

Game 3- vs Skaven

He had four warlock engineeers, with about 3 dispel scolls, 4 tokens, storm daemon and one other item which generates more power dice , four clan rat units with 4 ratling guns, 2 units of tunnellers, 5 bases of rat swarms, 2 warp lightning cannons, 2 units of six jezzils.

The army already scares me to death and the player had just had a game where he played against a dark elf player whom he trashed but also cheated his way through in some cases, taking a long time to play his game.

I hid most of my army behind a hill, moved one unit of dryads in the forest in middle of the table to march block him and yet stay out of sight. I took first turn and a master of stone killed off one unit of jezzails. He moved everything forward and one spell later I had lost one unit of glade guard. I replied by taking off two bases of rat swarm which had ventured into the woods (Calaingor's Stave strikes again) and one ratling gun. One cannon explodes on its own as he tries to take out a dryad.

And so the game goes I try to play for a draw knowing this would give me enough points to stay in contention for first and second place. That is when miscasts strike. In last two turns I get two miscasts all magic phase ends. It is his last turn and he moves all his warlock engineers on top of the hill where he magics my wild riders and half a treeman.

Game ends up in a minor victory for him. I should have given him first turn as he would not havemade his last move as this would have placed all his warlocks in charge range of the Treemen.

Loss 7-13

Game 4- Empire against Ian, one of my best mates. We both did not like but what can you do.

He had Elector Count on Griffin, Unit of 7 knights with a Captain, Hellblaster, Unit of halberdiers, unit if Gretaswords, unit of swordmasters, two level one mages with four dispel scrolls in all and a Steam Tank.

Once again I ignored the Steam Tank and let him eat or grind the Glade Guard. Treesinging got my two forests well around the place and into his deployment zone where Terror from Treeman caused the swordsmen with one of the level one mages to leave table, followed soon by Hellblaster. Strangle Roots took three wounds off the Griffin while combination of magic and strangle root brought the greatswords  to below half strength. Terror also had his knights flee from the table.

I ended up having two quarters and he none.

17-3 Victory for the Wood Elves.

I ended up in third place and second best General.

First place was the Skaven guy I lost to and second was a Tzeentch army that looked something like this- Lord on Dragon, 2 Beast Shamans, 2 herds, 2 Chariots or 3 and  Hellcannon not sure if there was anything else.

That is all for now.
