For several years I've had a keen interest in the Mechanicus, and been plotting to build an army of the robed nutters from Mars. I've always been more a converter and painter than a gamer, I usually spend way too much time building my minis, to actually have time to game with them as well. Anyway, the Mechanicus is perfect when you love to cut up bits and glue them together again - sometimes even with other bits and not your fingers - since all the lovely fluff is wide open to interpretation and no "official" miniatures exist. A playground so to speak. My view of the Mechanicus might not be strictly canon, but I see them as tech monks, who often balance on the edge of what is accepted experimentation and borderline sick, twisted and heretical. Sort of lovely darkcore, HI- and LO-tech, steampunkish, feudal society where only the strongest, most wetwired and intrigant personalities persists.
Even though I don't tent to play much, I like building my miniatures around a codex, if a gaming chance should arise. The brilliant codex from Tempus Fugitives is IMO by far the best one out there, so that has been my choice.
I run a blog The Forge http://forgemechanicus.blogspot.dk/, where I normally postthe most pics, but since I've signed up here I figured I might as well show the stuff here as well. I'll show some of the older model as well, and try to bring things up to speed in a few days.

Manus

The basic footslugger, The Hypaspist, has been through a couple of incarnations, none of which has been just right - ATM I'm waiting for some parts I know Anvil Industry will be releasing shortly, after which I'll give it another try.
I kind of like the design of the ones that has been painted, so I might very well use them as the lowgrade tech priest manning guns and such.

Velites - close combat orientatedjump infantry.

As you might see on most of my minis I simply love the stuff Joel over at http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/ produces - brilliant stuff.

The absolute lowlife in the manufactorums are the menials, most likely are they so depraved that they are actually bred in the good old fashioned way, no testubes at all - is it even possible?????

The second round of pictures are my Praetorians. Still human soldiers though enhanced somewhat, and with access to some good equipment.

Thanks a lot, I'll try to bring you guys up to speed ASAP.

One of my absolute favourites in the codex, is the Legio Cybernetica. Huge lumps of metal, just there for the killing So far If made a couple of different Hunter robots and the first batch of Defender robots.
First up is the Hunters.

The current project, and my first HQ is The Omniscion. Some kind of twisted, ancient and depraved Magus from the Legio Cybernetica.

A few more cables will be added, but I have to wait for some Procreate to dry before petting it more.
Actually I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, pretty close to my concept - big and nasty looking.

As I've already stated my army is build around the great codex from TF which can be downloaded here:http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/pdf/40k/Codex%20Cult%20Mechanicus.pdf
As a side project to my army I have been working on an armyfile for Battlescribe - I take it most of you know it. The program's a really useful and I like the fact that it works on any platform.
The army file can be downloaded here: https://www.box.com/s/zcg5f77zmc7dhc9109hg or via the Download section of my blog - link in the signature.
Updates will appear when ever I receive feedback, find mistakes or the codex is updated.

My mind is in orbit over these Mechanicus minis you bashed together. The Magus is nothing short than genus. Can't wait to see more.

The HQ is just nuts, great work!

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Seconded... slow hand clap for that HQ! I love the trailing bits for his skirt/legs... and those funky wings! The arms look a bit too big, but overall... that's a damn cool mini!

That is an awesome piece of work, I've always been fascinated by the Adeptus Mechanicus, and you've captured them perfectly.

Thanks guys - much appreciated.

Regarding the armsize, i've had a few comments on that. They are out of proportions, yes - but that is fully intended. I see this guy as a livig picture of all that is "wrong" with the Mechanicus. An ancient magus, who dabbled a bit to much with wetware and neural implants, added a few too many grafts and slept a year or two too long in cryojuice.

Once in A while you just stumble upon some stuff you can't pass on. When I last week first came across Inquisimunda I was sold. A Gothic world, religious nutters, a good game and so many minis to be inspired by the work of John Blanche. Great - so I was lured away

I have been looking at those FW bots, but if I should include them in my army/TF codex I could only fit them into either hunter or defender robot catagories, and I already have plenty of unpainted minis laying around for that

With regards to knights, last year I send a bunch of money to the Dream Forge Games Kickstarter, so within a couple of month I should receive no less than 5 of their titans in 15mm scale, which will be my knight titans - can't wait to see the face of my enemy whence they are all fielded at once

Blue-tacked the wing on the Scion for a more complete view. All the major colors are done - so now its time for all the detail work. Can't wait to get him finished - and for once it's not because I'm fed up with the painting, but I really want to see him finished, because I think he look so god damned cool.
