Well, I didn't see this in the FAQ or in a few searches, so I figure it's time to dip a toe in the pool here.

A friend of mine is working up his Games Day Chicago army list with me, and wants to run a 2 Tyrant 'nid force. So far, so good.

However, he's adamant that he can equip both his land-bound Tyrant and his Winged Tyrant with Tyrant Guard as long as he restricts the Winged Tyrant's movement to 6" until his accompanying guard is killed.

I'm almost certain that the codex says the guard cannot be chosen to accompany any Tyrant with the "Winged" biomorph, but he's being pretty insistant.

So, what do you think, sirs?

Page 36 Tyranid Codex "A Hive Tyrant without the Wings biomorph may choose to be accompanied by up to 3 Tyrant Guard at...." Pretty cut and dry there. If the Tyrant has wings, he's solo.

Brilliant - thank you!
