Hi all

I am going to be one of the people hosting 40k and fantasy events at a local hobby store opening up next month. And I need some help on what kind of games to run.
I know tournaments are good but what would alot of you want to see and what is popular?

Feed back greatly appreciated

Cheers

Run 40k ..

Do small battles at first to generate interest.. 600 pts or so..

Then move into a 1250 level , then bump it up to 1850 and run a tournament.

That should give your players something to chew on and at various points levels, one player will not be able to dominate the whole time.

Run both, do not "discriminate" one or the other. Such things only breed animosity, also run as mentioned before varied point levels. It will aid you to build a varied selection of gamers in the long run.

Ladder games, campaigns, scenarios once a month free for alls with a prize for the winners. Skirmish missions leading up to Apocalypse/ planet strike games.

System battles combining BFG, Space Hulk, maps, and ground combat...

to name a few.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
