The LA Battle Bunker is having regularly scheduled Epic gaming, usually on the last Saturday of the month.  All Epic players in SoCal are invited!

We just had our monthly meeting this afternoon.  It was Tau vs. Lost and Damned and Dark Angels vs. DIY (Vanilla) Space Marines.  We're planning to have two games per session next time.

Let me know if you're interested, I'll get you onto the monthly e-mail listing.

I'm interested, but I don't have an Epic army. Does anyone bring extra armies that new players can try out?

I do have some IG minis, but nothing is even close to being painted yet.

At least four of the regular Epic gamers have multiple armies available, which we will happily lend to anyone who wants to try out the game. We all have lots of different army lists pre-made for the various armies. Also, it's no problem playing with unpainted minis. So we'd be glad to have you come on down and play!

The next game is set for April 29. The Bunker opens at noon, and we usually get started by about 1pm. This time we're trying to get two games in, so first game will run 1-5pm or so, then break and play another game until closing..

Hope to see you there!

God I gotta see you two play a game. "On this side of the table we have The King of Zoats and on the opposite side of the table we have The LordoftheSloths" I just don't know who to root for. I am not sure who would win, are Zoats tougher than sloths?

Zoats are probably tougher than sloths. Sloths just like to hang around *heh*

If I can remember, and I'm not working (two gigantic hurdles for me), I will be there.

It's been a while since I played the game (I only played a couple of test games when the Armageddon rules came out), so I hope someone doesn't mind teaching me.

At least half of the current Epic players are not really rules experts, so don't worry about asking lots of questions.  You might want to check out Specialist Games' Epic site for the latest rules, army lists and a very good forum.

For all SoCal Epic gamers who are interested: time again draws near for more fun and mass destruction at the LA Battle Bunker on April 29th, 2006. Here are the ground rules:

Bring prepared rosters at 2700, 3000, 3500, and 4000 point range for your chosen army, you and your opponent will choose what point level to play at. Bunker opens at noon, be prepared to start your first game by 1 PM and finish up in time to play a second game by 5:30-6:00, if you are staying that long.

The following are the only currently recognized OFFICIAL lists:

Epic: Armageddon Rulebook:
Codex Astartes Space Marines
Imperial Guard Armageddon Steel Legion
Ghazgkhull Mag Uruk Thraka's War Horde (Orks)

Epic: Swordwind Supplement
Eldar Biel-Tan Craftworld
Imperial Guard Baran Siegemasters
Warlord Snagga Snagga's Feral Ork Horde (Feral Orks)

All other lists, including those found on the Specialist Games in the Experimental Rules section, are considered "Experimental" and un-official. In order to keep things fair for players of Official lists, players of Experimental lists need to follow the following
guidelines when playing Experimental lists:

1) Always use the latest version of whatever list you are using: This is to prevent picking and choosing of the lists, and to support the play testing efforts of list designers.

Don't count on the Specialist Games website to have the latest version in the Experimental Rules section, either; The SG site has often gone a few months without updating various lists. Seek out the home or forum of the list you are using to ensure you have the latest version.

Many of the army lists are being developed on the Epicomms Forums, at http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomms/ikonboard.cgi

This includes Tau, Tyranids, ATML, Various Eldar lists, and LatD.

2) Obtain your opponents permission before beginning the game. Let them know that your playing an Experimental list.

3) Have a copy of the Experimental Rules you are using to loan to your opponent during the game, for reference.

Lastly, users of Experimental lists are encouraged to provide feedback to the developers of those lists.
