    Hello,

I have a couple of questions:

1.  Say you have a unit in HtH with an enemy unit.  During the shooting phase, vindicare/scattered ordinance/something kills the all of the enemy unit in the shooting phase.  What happens to that unit?  Since it not locked in combat at the beginning of the assault phase, can it charge something else?

2.  The Orbital Strike in DaemonHunters/WitchHunters targets a terrain piece.  The terrain piece is covered by a Close Combat.  Can you still target the piece if you could not place the template without the covering the combat?

Thanks for your help.

1. Don't know to be honest with you. Without having the rulebook to consult here at work, I would say your free to move, shoot, attack as normal. The unit is no longer locked in combat or pinned.

2. Once orbital strike starts, there is no stopping it. That's why it is important to keep your troops out the area, unless their sole purpose was to bait the enemy and die like true servants of the emperor .

Glad to see someone using something besides the usual three exorcists in a list.

Da Southern New Hampshire!

Of course, just remember you cant shoot into HTH. As for the ordinance thing Im not sure how ordinance affects CC.

It depends on the wording. You cannot target a squad in HTH, but if the Orbital Strike targets a point and scatters, then Id say yes.
But remember, things with ordinance fire (ie. Basilisks, Lemun Russes, Vindicator... etc.) cannot shoot your own guys, empty terrain, or a unit in HTH. So it really depends on the wording.

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

Orbital strike is keyed to a piece of terrain chosen after table set-up, but before deployment starts. From the way I understand it, the strike can try to hit anywhere in the terrain, but you have to roll for the scatter, like firing ordinance from a moving vehicle. It doesn't matter if the terrain is occupied or not, because once you make the call to start down the barrage, it must continue each game turn until the end of the game. So if your unlucky enough to have anything in the area, good chance you'll get hit or the enemy fighting you in hth will, do to scatter.
