Get back into 40k after a long bit. Pick up the new Dark Angels Codex and really like its flexibility. I was thinking of putting the following 500 point list together, C+C appreciated!

HQ

Librarian - force sword, storm bolter, master level 1 (70 points)

Troops

5 Man Tactical Squad - Sgt w/storm bolter, plasma gun (95 points)
Razorback APC - Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter (55 points)

5 Man Tactical Squad - Sgt w/storm bolter, plasma gun (95 points)
Razorback APC - Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter (55 points)

Heavy Support

Land Speeder Vengance - Plasma Storm Batter, Heavy Bolter (140 points)

Librarian will ride with one of the tac squads, with three storm bolters, two plasma guns and hopefully at least one turn of two twin linked heavy bolters, I'll be able to thin down the crowd with the razorbacks and then utilize the LS Vengance to take out tougher troup choices.

The biggest issue I see is needing to get my lib close enough to take out any armour with his force sword.

Thoughts?

Hey I just ran this 500 point DA list, in my first real game of 40k and came out with a decisive win. Super easy to use too.
Librarian level 1
Dev squad with four plasma cannons
Tac squad with plasma gun, sarge with melta bombs (10 marines total)
Tac squad with plasma gun (9 marines total)

I found that if you just sit back and let the Libby give your devs re rolls you can kill most things with them, and just advance the tactical squads together to overwhelm enemy troops (20 3+ saves at 500 is not so easy to deal with) if you need to you can combat squad one of the tac squads and let them sit on a home objective. No flimsy vehicles in this list, and your troops will live because of target saturation.

I like the idea of rolling with two almost fully loaded tac squads. And Dark Angels = Plasma Cannon Death

But don't you have to roll to generate your librarian's powers now?

Divination primaris? I think that what he was thinking about saying rerolls.

I'm deciding where I want to go, at least for game play from here.

Space Marine Captain with power sword and storm bolter
Libraian (from dark vengance)

Troops:
3 x 10 Man tac Squads
-Sgt w/Storm Bolter
-Plasma Gun
-Plasma Cannon

Elites:
1 Dread - Plasma Cannon, Close Combat Fist with Storm bolter

Heavy Support:
1 x 10 Man Dev Squad
- 4 plasma cannons

I was thinking of Picking Up some Razor Backs and converting the Lascannon Twinliked Plasma Gun so I can combat squad my tac squads and effectively get 7 plasma cannon shots with marines running at the enemy, thoughts?
