If you accept that Rune Priest and Wolf form a unit, pretty nasty things become possible for Space Wolves.

A unit that is almost exclusivly made up of ICs. Imagine the following in >1500 points:

Rune Priest with Stormcaller, bike, 2+ save, Frostblade, Pistol, pelt.

+ Wolf

+ Wulf Guard Battle Leader, bike, 2+ save, Frostblade, Pistol, pelt.

+ Wulf Guard Battle Leader, bike, 2+ save, Frostblade, Pistol, pelt.

Ill put this up into the tactics forum, once its clear if this is legal.

Appears to be legal.

"A lone character may not join another character to form a character unit" is the only restriction on page 50.

Question: Is there specific wording in the SW Codex/FAQ that states that the character forms a unit with the wolf?
If not, then it is not a unit.

It appears that Tau and Chaos can legally do this though, as long as one of the characters has a pet.
I sense an abundance of "Romulus and Remus" or "Gemini" character units o' death on the horizon.

Well, maybe not. They can then be targeted....

"It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
It is by the seed of Arabica that thoughts acquire speed, the teeth acquire stains, the stains become a warning.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion."

Ahoj!
Perfectly clear in the SW codex.

Codex says: "In effect the wolves and the character form a small unit." also it mentions Morale checks for the unit.

So when a normal unit can be formed by adding a wolf, characters should be able to join as normal. Ill post the unit in the tactics section now.
