My question is whether models with jet packs can walk. The jet pack rules don't say they have the option to walk. The option to walk is given in the jump infantry rules, so I am assuming as jet packs are jump infantry, they are allowed to walk. Is that right?

Note: There are no rules for this in the Tau codex, they are only in the BGB.

Just to make sure, you're asking about tau, correct? You know, I have to go back and check the new codex to see if anything changed. I'll do that when I get back from work.

In the old one the jet packs were either a 6" or less normal move (aka, walking), or if they used the packs it was only a 6" movement... no more, no less.

Tau jet packs are described in the BGB p.55, under the Jump Infanry rules.

P1: They are described as being just like Jump Infantry except as noted.
P2: Jump Infantry may walk.
P3: The Codex presents no contradictory rule.
C:  Tau Jet Packs may walk

On Dakka when we can't use RAW we use Name calling, Poo throwing, and Dictionary quotes in that order to resolve it. - Glaive Company CO
