Going to run a small for fun tourney at DropZone Games in Glen Burnie, Maryland on August 17.
http://www.dropzone-games.com/

We look to start at noon and to finish the rounds by about 4pm.
Players will field 1500 pt armies using the basic book/official downloadable lists.
No [1] characters allowed but everything else in the books is legal.

Generous prize support from Mantic means everybody who plays (8 slots) gets to pick from the prize pile.
First 8 people to register AND show up and play are eligible for the prizes.
Tentative plan is for 3 rounds. Highest score gets first pick at the pile. Next highest gets next pick. Etc.

I am the point of contact at privateer4hire@yahoo.com or PM on this forum.
Thanks and hope to see you there.

Daron

FREE STUFF! to all players in the 8 slots for play.

Folks can bring any fantasy stuff they want (WFB), regardless of manufacturer, as long as they make a 1500 point list for KoW.

As long as you are consistent with your counts-as-ness and the unit base size (e.g., a 5 x 4 20mm based unit should occupy a 100mm x 80mm space) there should be zero problem.

Wanna field Skaven as counts as goblins? GW Ogres as KoW Ogres? All zero problems.

Did I also forget to mention again: FREE STUFF! to all players in the 8 slots for play.

Is there a start and end time for this yet? Had something else pop up that day and I'm wondering if I can pull off both.

Drop Zone Games in Glen Burnie, Maryland hosted the For-Fun Kings of War Tournament on Saturday, August 17.
I have pics posted on the Mantic forums but you have to be a member to see 'em, unfortunately.

Martin Ryder and Joe Barth tied for first place.
Mantic's generous prize support (each champion got over $100 in free models!!!!!!) helped increase both gentlemen's Kings of War armies.

The tournament came down to a Kill Mission between Martin's Undead Hordes and Joe's stalwart Dwarves.
When the dust settled, each player had given about as good as they had taken with points so close to make it a draw.

Joe selected dwarf cannon (they did well for him in the fight) and also some orcs -- a plan for a future evil army?!!!
Martin stayed true to his undead, selecting some more undead to swell the ranks of evil including new Werewolves.

Many thanks to Drop Zone Games for hosting and to Mantic for their generous prize support!
