Wondering if anyone knows of a good source of bird legs that would be scaled poperly to fit onto GW fantasy Cav. Wanting to make chobobo type Cav for some Warmachine elves, possibly out of the empire demigryph Cav.

This is gonna be vague, but it might point you in the right direction.

Someone posted a Chocobo model on CMON a little while ago, I think it was heavily converted, but not entirely scratch built, and it was beautiful.

Perhaps you could poke around and see if a) you can find it and b) find anything from the artist in how it was put together?

EDIT

Found it!

That looks like Nakatans work. It's an awesome model that's for certain.

It is Nakatan.

Unfortunately for the OP, its only the rider that is converted, the mount is sculpted from scratch.

Still, maybe you could get in touch and convince him to produce them?!

Tamiya Velociraptors could be good. Not too bad a price at £10ish for a pack of 6.
Gimmie a day or so and could possibly dig mine out for some scale shots with some cavalry models
Unless someone beats me to it,

Maiden heads terror birds (and riders) might work well enough

http://members.optushome.com.au/cynan/Miniatures.htm

There are a few other companies who do terror birds which will be about the right size to use as mounts as well.

The Reaper Bones griffon might have potential for parts. In fact, chopping off the lion bit, adding more neck, and repurposing the wings (cut up into nonflight small wings and a tail)... it could get you there. This is now on my list of projects!

I do like those velociraptors, though. Please do post scale shots, Alex!

I second the Brushfire Lem Han models. Even if they are not perfect chocobos, you cannot go wrong with red pandas riding giant chickens.
