Was looking online today for stuff on ebay, and I came across these miniatures. *LINK*

I think the Light Wargs would make excellent variations of the Fleabag Riders and Sniffs. But, you say, they're only 1/72 scale, that's too small! But these are orcs in that scale, so when you work it out they'll be about the right size to use. Plus the wargs look really nice too, very detailed and diverse.

You can find them on ebay. Just search for 'Light warg' and go worldwide. This is probably the cheapest listing to buy from, as you'll get discounted shipping past 1 box. *LINK*

Anyone game to try them out?

Also you can buy 1/72 Goblins from Caesar Miniatures (review link here, Fantasy item 105) which would make great Orcling proxies.

I think all of these are in soft plastic, so beware, but the price is definitely good!

Definitely be interested in seeing how they come out and how they scale to our 28mm models if any of you get hold of some.

Yeah I might make the plunge after I get a bunch of cash back from selling my KoW pledge. Still waiting on the buyers to get this sorted out so...

But in any case, I think by extrapolating from the measuring tape on the side, they look like they'll be perfect for the job. 6 different mounts for these don't suck either.

I think 3 sets would be enough? Would give 36 miniatures, which when you spread them out for scenic bases (thinking 6 for a 10 sized unit, 3 for a 5). Works out pretty cheap, so as soon as I have the cash available, I will give it a go.

I've ordered in some from hobbyterra.com because they had the best prices including shipping to me here in Australia. 2 packs of the Light Wargs and I took a punt on the Heavy Wargs too, just to give some variety. I am thinking they can be used as commanders inside the units etc.

Hoping they work out. I think I am correct about their scale, so I reckon they'll do nicely next to LotR Goblins, of which I have hundreds.

Was that cheaper than the eBay links?

Yeah, worked out to be $9.00USD for each box, and $10.80 total postage. If I had of only bought two boxes I think the postage was only $6.80.

Unfortunately, I think I have taken the last of the Light Wargs, sorry bout that guys. I was hoping they would have some of the 1/72 Caesar Miniatures Goblins, but unfortunately not. This will do for the moment, and if I need to I will wait till they restock the goblins and get some of them and some Heavy Wargs at the same time.

I'm sure they'll get more in at some stage. I'll be waiting to see how yours turn out before ordering some, anyway.

Those miniatures are pretty nice, and made me think about collecting some armies for KoW some time ago. At 22 mm tall, i think they will stand very "ok" for the game scale, but can look strange if sided with Mantic minis...

Dont know, i will wait your report

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

I think I should be fine as I am pairing these up with LotR Moria Goblins, and they are quite small. If these are too big, I will just mod some of the Moria goblins to ride the wargs instead. I am thinking I should be ok though.

But if you were to use them next to the Mantic ones, they might be too small for sure.

Ok, received them in from Hobby Terra. Quite impressed actually, the miniatures hold quite a lot of detail, a hell of a lot for their size and cost actually. The plastic is a nice medium between soft and hard, more towards the hard end of the spectrum, but with enough give to be pliable.

The Orcs, which I will be using as goblins, are just a touch smaller than the GW Lord of the Rings Goblins, which is fine. The GW has better proportions, but at the price of these compared to buying GW Wargs and putting Moria Goblins on them, the price can't be beat. I am thinking 6 on a base will be fine to represent 10 as a regiment. The Wargs are very much in a true-scale kind of size, which means they are about 1cm wide, which is fine. I am using them to represent 'fleabags', not some kind of hideous chompy monster.

Here's a bad photo with my phone's camera to give you a sense of size.

Warg, Warg Rider Leader, LotR Goblin, Warg Rider Musician, Warg, GW sprue of Goblin and Dwarf.

I would recommend getting these if you had models which are small enough to ride them. If they're GW Warhammer or even Mantic Goblin sized, you're likely going to be disappointed. For me, however, with a ton of LotR Goblins on hand, they'll do just fine. I ordered 2 boxes of the Light Wargs and 1 of the Heavy, but as soon as the store gets in some 1/72 goblins (will use as Orclings), I will likely buy one or two boxes more of the Heavy Warg Orcs.
