I remember a few board members poking fun at me when I first showed these conversions...such as when will they be painted.  Well I got them done in plenty of time.  I prepared this army for Adepticon 2006 in Chicago.  It is my first adventure into Warhammer Fantasy and most certainly a learning experience.  One that taught me that rank and file models are a bit harder to convert than 40k due to that ranking stuff.

Least to say I like to do converted skirmishers.  This is an army that will see an expansion in the future, as I enjoyed playing the game.  I received a lot of positive feedback at the tournament.  Everything is basically painted to my table top standard.  Much more to come for the army as they are quite pic heavy.  With that being said lets get started, leading off is the first of two herds.  I tried to make every model appear just a bit different, so that no two were the same.  I also wanted a variety of skin/fur tones, with the weaker Ungors obviously lighter in color than the stronger Gors.

That is an extraordinary level of detail for table-top quality! I would be happy to be able to paint that well for characters. And all converted as well - my mind, she is blown.

Great conversions, great painting. I would love to see the expansions as they are completed

Hehe. Praise from Gordy is high praise indeed.

Kudos on making each unique! That alone is worth the price of admission.

Those are fantastic. I remember the WIP pics and I can't wait to see your bestigors. So far, I honestly like them much more then your templars (which are also fantastic). These are much more gritty but at the same time show your progress as a painter.

I've been considering starting up my first fantasy army and beastmen were one of my possible choices. I think you just helped me decide. Would you be so kind as to share your recipies for the ungors and the brownish gors? Also, are the leaves from woodland scenics or did you use oregano or something?

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

Very impressive Psy! I wished I'd had a chance to take a look at your stuff @ Adepticon.

Perhaps my favorite part of this whole unit is the skull on the standard. Very well done!! Look liek a totally different painting style from your BT's, yet every bit as well executed.

Really sweet, I'm a big fan of the metallics. It's been fun seeing your progress from your first few blue marines to now.

Wow. Thanks very much for the kind words. I worked pretty hard to get these boys ready in time for Adepticon. My standards for table top have grown considerably since the days of the Blue Templar army. I tried to paint these a bit more subtle since my ultra highlighted style did not work well with how Mike Butcher paints, which was the other half of the team. There will be a bunch more pics of the army coming soon as I also played the singles event. Speaking of Blue Templars, I did manage to squeak out a third place with my Dreadnought in the paint competition. That was really cool for a two year old paint job that has seen a number of battles.

The brownish gors are all Vallejo Model Color 140 series browns, starting with Chocolate Brown 149 worked through English Uniform 141, then a bit of beige added to that for final highlights. The lighter ungors are I believe VMC English Uniform, Earth brown, then Flat Flesh.

Hey Big O, not a prob, I know what the Adepticon schedule is like, WHFB being in the Pavillion didn't help either. I loved those Nurgle that you did by the way, well done.

Please tell me you are going to enter this in a Golden Demon. Those are awesome. I worship you mad painting skillz.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred
