I'm starting an Empire Army and have decided to make them into soldiers serving a Noble attempting to restore Drakwald to status as a Province with an Elector Count and so on and so forth. I'm flushing out the fluff of Drakwald and have a couple questions:
First: What are the approximate borders of Drakwald? Just the forest? Or is there other territory?
Secondly: What types of soldiers would Drakwald be 'famous' for? Like the northern provinces have Marksmen and those Marksmen are famous throughout the Empire.
Thirdly: Name wise, the General who will represent the Noble's name. Should I use the name Aldrech, because that was the name of the last Elector Count from Drakwald, or can I use the name Wolfbarth, a name I came up with.
Thanks in advance.

Look over at Beasts o war and read their article on Regiments of Renown. Their campaign took place in the Drakwald, might help, might not.

You can use any name you want, your general could be a descendant of the last count in the female line.
But in my opinion Wolfbarth sounds stupid. Wolfberth would be better and more germanic.
The province of Drakwald was located in the north of the Drakwald forest in the area that is now part of Middenland and Nordland. It was probably to the west of Middenheim.
Middenland got the largest part of Drakwald's territory so it stretched probably from somewhere in Nordland to halfway Middenland.
Drakwald's armies would probably be known for the same kinds of soldiers as the other heavily forested provinces.

Thanks. So roughly, the borders would be approximately from Norland's southern border to Talabecland with the river being the border between Drakwald and Middenland and the modern Hochland borders? Does that sound right?
The 'e' change to the name does sound better and more Germanic. Good idea.
So because Drakwald would be more forested units like Handgunners, Huntsmen, and Archers are more common than Spearmen and Halbrediers?

First off Welcome to the Ranks of the Empire!

As far as what you should field you may want to approach it as a current Empire army rallying under a fallen banner. So if you want a fluff army Halbrediers would be the bulk of the army. However you are almost making your own fluff and story so you could make it an all ranged army if you wanted. That's the beauty of custom fluff you can do what you want to with it.

Going on the whole concept of forest battles the Empire troops would be Archers, huntsmen, crossbows and swordsmen. These would be the most effective units in heavily forested areas (purely on real life knowledge of forest fighting) and would make a cool looking army IMHO

Good luck with that I say, the province of Drakenwald was laid in ruins by the Beastmen, in fact one of the provinces ruined by said race. But the idea you propose is none the less very much nice. But here are the answers to your questions.
The Drakenwald is one massive forest and has no major Emperial prenses so to speak outside of whatever meager holdings some locals has mamanged to scrape out. the troops would mostly be companies armed with bows/cross bows and handguns figthing alongside spearmen and swordsmen, cavalry would be of very limitied use but should still be presented in the form of pistolers and such.

Also there should be warrior priests preaching to the soldiers and brining the fury of Sigmar down upon the vile Beastmen and mutants found within the forest.
As for names well there you are free to choose whatever you want, as for fluff I recommend the Beastmen army book actualy
