Exscuse me but I have been playing with my first transport and had an argument with a player about victory points and a dedicated transport (Devilfish).

He was able to destroy my devilfish but the unit that bought it as an upgrade, was still at full strength.  According to my point of view destroying the transport didn't give him any victory points, he argued that it was worth victory points because it wasn't attached to the firewarriors but was simply a vehicle?

What is the proper ruling?

Read page 86 of the rulebook: Units with distinct elements.

You were wrong.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?

my interpretation of what i am reading is, if he destroyed the then he recieves all the points that you payed for it. Example - If i payed 50pts for a rhino, and he destroyed, then he gets the 50pts.

A continuation of this issue: If the mission is recon, and the devilfish cost you 80 and the firewarriors cost you 120: do you get 200 for having them both in the DZ at the end of the game?  Or just 120 for the scoring unit of firewarriors?

I'm pretty sure that that section also means that the dedicated transport is never a scoring vehicle while the unit it carried is. Just like an IC with a retinue is never scoring while his retinue is. Yay for IG!
