Welcome to my first battle report. Here we have the Dark Angels vs the Ork Dred Mob at 1850 points. The armies are as follows:


Raziel (Librarian in Terminator armour) + power field generator •

Omega (Deathwing Command Squad) + Deathwing Apothecary + Standard of Devastation + chainfist + assault cannon

Mortis A (Dreadnought) + twin-linked autocannon + plasma cannon

Mortis B (Dreadnought) + twin-linked autocannon + plasma cannon

Alpha (10 Tactical Space Marines) + missile launcher

Beta (10 Tactical Space Marines) + missile launcher

3 Land Speeders + multi-melta + 3× typhoon missile launcher

Nephilim Jetfighter + avenger mega-bolter

Whirlwind Land Raider Crusader + multi-melta

Mission:
The Scouring - Fast Attacks are VPs and scoring.

Dawn of War

3 Objectives each. Randomly placed, 4, 2, 1, 3, 3, 2.

Dark Angels Warlord has Hold at All Costs which grants Feel no Pain for that unit within 3" of an objective.

Dred Mob Warlord has Mek Master which makes a Deff Dread or Mega Dread within 6" both scoring or denial unit.

Deployment:
Dark Angels deploy first. To my opponent's right is a large ruin that he deploys his assault squads into across the levels, claiming one objective. The two whirlwinds are placed behind the ruin out of LOS. Landspeeders, Landraider, & Dreadnought A were placed to the right of the ruin, obscuring them. Deathwing deploys inside the LRC. Dreadnought B is placed to the left of the ruin. Beforehand objectives were placed in ruin, toward his right flank tablecenter in difficult terrain (rocks), & on his left flank in some woods.

(The Void Shield was placed near the center of the table but mostly in the Orks table half.)

Dread Mob deploys Meka Dread to the left of VSG. Junka A & B were placed behind on both sides of the VSG. The Big Trakks were placed behind the Junkas still in range of the VSG and some rocks, partially blocking LOS. Spannas (17) deploy in the woods claiming objective. Kans deployed behind woods completely out of LOS. Spannas (11) & Grot Scavs held in reserve. Buzzgob deploys inside of Mekboy Junka A. Deff Dread deploys within 6" of Junka A claiming an objective. Beforehand, objectives were placed in the woods on my left, behind the VSG, and in a ruin on my right flank on the second level.

Objectives claimed became:
Assault Squad A: Grav Wave Gun- halves the charge range of attacker. Spannas: Scatterfield- +1 to the cover save. Deff Dread: Scatterfield.

Dred Mob rolls to seize and does!

Orks turn 1:
No Nightfighting.
Everything advances. Junkas position themselves to shoot. Big Trakks do the same. Deff Dread moves off objective and towards enemy objective in woods. Kans claim behind DD.
Shooting from Junka A's SAG kills 4 at the top of ruin. Supa-Kannon & Grot Sponson kill 1 more apiece.
END

Dark Angels turn 1
LRC and Landspeeders move toward the front of the ruin. Both Dreadnoughts draw LOS.
Shooting from Landspeeders knocked down all 3 shields. LRC glances Meka Dread. Spannas take fire and go to ground, giving them a 2+ cover. Both Whirlwinds fire at Spannas ignoring cover killing 2 & 2.
END

ORKS turn 2:
No reserves. Everything moves forward.
Shooting phase the Meka Dread repairs hull point. Junka B's big shoota kills 1.
Rolls to restore VSG. Triple 5s!! All shields return.
END.

Dark Angels turn 2:
Everything holds position.
Shooting from Dreadnought A knocks down 1 shield. Dreadnought B knocks down another. Rocket drops last one. Multimelta glances Meka Dread. Whirlwind kills 2 Spannas. Other Whirlwind kills another 5. Spannas pass leadership and stay.
END

Orks turn 3:
Spannas (11) & Grot Scavs come in from reserve. Spannas in the trukk come in toward the objective to my right in the ruin. Grots come in and head the same direction. Kustom Meka Dread calls a Mega Charge but rolls a 1 and immobilizes. No shields were regenerated.
END

Dark Angels turn 3:
Nephilim comes in from opponents right. LRC moves up. Everything else holds.
Shooting from the Nephilim blows up Junka B, leaving a crater and giving the DA first blood. Landspeeders take remaining hull points off of the Kustom Meka Dread, wrecking it but keeping it there. LRC assault cannon wrecks 1 Kan behind the Meka. Dreadnought B kills 2 Kans. Rockets take 2 hull points from Junka A. Whirlwind kills 3 Spannas from the woods and the LRC finished them off.
END

Orks turn 4:
The 2 remaining Kans from the B unit run into the woods and claim the objective freshly lost by the Spannas. One Kan immobilizes on the way in. Spannas (11) hop out of Scrap Trukk and claim objective in ruin. Rolled a 2, nothing happened.
In the shooting phase, Buzzgob repaired a hull point on Junka A and a Supa-kannon killed a Landspeeder. Repaired 2 shields.
END

Dark Angels turn 4:
Plane moves toward woods.
Rockets take out a shield. Autocannon drops the other. Plane wrecks 1 Kan from unit A. Landspeeders take 1 hull point off of Junka. Whirlwind shoots at the ruin, kills 6 Grots. Other Whirlwind takes same shot kills remaining Grots and 3 Spannas.
END

Orks turn 5:
Buzzgob leaves Junka and runs into woods with Deff Dread, making the Dread scoring. Claims objective, Targeting relay = skyfire.
Dred Mob shooting from Supa-kannon kills 1 Landspeeder. Big shoota kills the other Landspeeder for 1 VP. Another Big Shoota kills 1 marine.
Restored 1 void shield.
END

Dark Angels turn 5:
Plane heads toward table edge.
Dreadnought A knocks shield down. Plane glances a Kan. Whirlwind finishes it off.
END

Orks turn 6:
Nightfighting.
Big Shootas take 1 hull point off the Nephilim.
END

Dark Angels turn 6:
LRC tank shocks Big Trakk. Big Trakk blows up. LRC continues into crater left by a Kan. LRC immobilizes in crater.
Whirlwind is able to remove 1 hull point from a Kan in the woods and gets an immobilized result.
END

Orks turn 7:
2nd Big Trakk goes in the way to block assaults from the Deathwing.
Restores 2 void shields.
END

Dark Angels turn 7:
Terminators hop out of LRC.
LRC shoots Junka, which is just out of VSG range. Junka glanced to death. Terminators attempt to charge the woods objective. Fail charge. Game ends.

Dred Mob claims the 4, 2, 2 and 1 objectives + 1VP for Fast Attack = 10 VPs

Dark Angels claim the 3 objective + 1VP for first blood = 4 VPs

Dred Mob wins.

Looks like it was a close game. A new bat repper is always a welcome addition. I hadn't actually realised that a Mortis could be outfitted with different weapons on each arm, so that was a new one on me. That being said, I don't think a Plasma Cannon is the best option for a Mortis, since you can't shoot template weapons at flying targets.

If you'd like to increase the number of comments and reads you receive, can I suggest that you add a few photographs or maps to your future battle reports? I've found that posts with some pretty photographs or maps tend to get more of a response from the community.
