So I've got five of these guys: <table border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr> <td align="left" valign="top"> </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">31201-Legionaries
</td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">
</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">
</td></tr></tbody> </table> (please note that they are the metal VOID 1.1 Legionaires).

I got them a while ago with the intention of turning them into Arbites. With the shields and shotguns, I think they'd make a good basis.

What suggestions would y'all make to up-Arbite them? Obviously add the gratuitous skulls, aquillae (sp?), =][= symbols, etc. Other thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I have the same guys and the same intent. Y'know I'm not planing much, just royal blue armor, codex grey cloth and yellow badges.

Since I plan to (someday) do an army I want my conversions to be simple and anyway perfer my arbs to look businesslike rather than freaky.

My Inquisition storm troops get the skulls and =][=s and stuff, not my cops.

That makes sense. They still lack a certain...something. But that may be the difference between VOID and 40k.

There are also these guys:
<table border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"> <tbody><tr> <td align="left" valign="top"> </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">13602-Convict Legionaries
</td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">
</td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">

Maybe another good alternative?
</td></tr><tr> <td valign="top">
</td> </tr> </tbody> </table>

What you're missing is the skulls. I once thought of getting some of the Urban War minis to represent the Arbitrator overseers of a Feral World penal legion, but like everything in my life, I never did it.

Something else to keep in mind is they are a bit shorter than GWs figures. I'll try and post a shot tomorrow.

'Tis true, they are smaller (less bulky, really). But as a stand-alone army, with a few characters and such, they should be okay...

From an article I've seen in the Citadel Journal #29, think Judge Dred visually and that's pretty much it, with mostly black, sometimes white for Elites, uniforms and mostly lots of sculpted/emblazoned eagles. After all, Arbites are a Judge Dred rip-off.

Those Urban Mammoth figs seems real nice to use as Arbites.

Are the skulls on the original Arbites models ? I don't think so. I painted them Black details gold and a red trim. Maybe I can post some photos tomorrow.

Worth noting, Neil at the Warstore (www.thewarstore.com) has the plastic void boxes for 20% off, which comes out to $40 for 50 void plastics.

Huh. I thought Neal was out?

Anyway, Brookhurst Hobbies also has the stuff (brookhursthobbies.com), as well as the old pewters for a nice discounter (5 guys for $14-ish).
I've bought from them before, and they're also trustworthy.
