Yeah did this guy up over the course of a few days.  The ruins are from the old 40k starter box the tiles are squares cut from plasticard and the whole thing is based on a sheet of it think 1/4"MDF.

I took about a half hour to build, and another half to paint.

Questions and Comments are welcome.

Nice use of standard pieces! The plasticard floor really helps pull the structure together.

Simple and functional, Bravo!

Standing outside Jester's house demanding the things he took from my underwear drawer.

Looks very nice.

An entire of terran modelled and painted to this standard doesn't take long and adds so much to a game.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe

It's nice also when you have beautiful models to put on it, like you do. Very nice.

Thanks for the response guys.  The tiles do bring it together my initial goal was to make it look less like some crap int the middle of nowhere and more like it used to be a buliding that someone once used.

Im working on some more stuff today so stay posted.  Gotta fill out some terrain for an upcomming table.  I'm open to ideas if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks guys.

Are there any requsets for terrain.  I have to make a bunch of stuff and need some ideas.  I have a few forests and the BforMcCraig crap already planned.

Your idea was very good and I had to copy it (sorry, not very original). What various colors did you use for the highlights on the ruin and floor? Gray is obvious, but is there a hint of blue in there as well? Stuff looks great.

I'd like to see what you've done with the BforMcCragge shuttle. I've done one, but I'm not real happy with how it turned out and may redo it. Thanks for the pics.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

That's lovely! I may have to try that tile trick next time I build some city terrain.

The ruins were painted over black primer.
-Shadow Grey (I think where the blue comes from)
-Codex Grey
-Fortress Grey (I can never remember whether this darker or lighter then Codex)
All the greys were drybrushed on, going darkest to lightest and getting less and less heavy.
The dirt was painted Scorched Brown.
-Bestial Brown
-Bubonic Brown
-Bleached Bone
As I was painting the dirt I very lightly and randomly drybrushed the ruin areas to make it look more weathered.

The tile trick will also work with card stcok (cerial boxes) I just had the plasticard cut out already.

Be sure to post up the pics Sarigar.

I usually despice Shadow Grey, as it's not grey at all, but it worked out real nice here.
