I have noticed that many Nurgle models do have a single horn. Is there a spesific reason for this, or is it a stylistic choise?

Symbol of virility, which implies the power of giving life. It fits.

If I remember correctly...

It is said that Nurgle's Rot, one of the most infamous and feared plagues across the old world, has a long and horrible list of symptoms. The last of which includes the poor soul's skull splitting and twisting, to sport a single horn. This is the last phase of the transformation from pox-ridden victim to newly-formed Plaguebearer.

Yep, this is the reason for GW including this in their models. Horns are a sign of virility and nurgle is the god of disease, stagnation, life, and love...gotta love that mix.

Too direct. Hidden phallic symbols, that's what he was about.

I think Nurgle is like the chaotic counterpart to Taal or Kurnous. Which explains his desires for Rhya or Isha and all that.

There's been a strong trend in recent fantasy towards the gods being more "real" in the Olympian sense. Which not everyone likes, but I think helps differentiate between the setting of WHFB and WH40k where they're distant cosmic horrors.

They are the same in both really, personality wise and generally how he is.

It's just more direct in fantasy because it's a single setting, he can focus his care on a single planets worth of followers rather then a universe.
