I was considering a 'vre with AFG & Burst Cannon & MT, it comes out pretty hefty at 68pts but may be worth it (only 6pts more than fireknife and you can throw on bonding and target lock for only 10pts) problem is what to pair it with, you could of course pair it with happypants config crisis  and it would be great for all those units in cover and you don't even need LOS to fire it.

too bad you have to have the AFG on crisis only.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

Hey, happypants.

Most folks seem to pair up TL:BC and arrays on their AFG escorts. Makes for a wicked light infantry killer.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Target lock is ideal, so you can throw around your pie plate while the rest of the team does something else.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I'm still poking around the various threads to find what this 'happypants configuration' is, but so far when I've used the AFP, it's been in a team of Deathrain suits. The two normal suits have flamers to fill their third hardpoints, and the 'Vre has twin missiles, the AFP, and a hardwired target lock. Overall, it makes for a relatively cheap team, and the combination of a long ranged main weapon with a secondary weapon which ignores line of sight has an incidental fire effect analogous to the pairing of a Railgun and SMS on a Hammerhead with Target Lock. You can fire at up to two light vehicles, a vehicle and an infantry squad, or use the flamers with the AFP for some serious horde-thinning (the target lock is nice here so that you can fire on a different target and not worry about it scattering back on you). Just my two cents; take it for what it's worth.
