If you have even a modicum of modeling talent, or the desire to push yourself, you'll find our models are designed to be incredibly flexible if you start cutting and gluing. Being HIPS plastic, polystyrene cement will melt the models, so you can cut something in half, glue it with polystyrene cement and then the lines and seams will be filled automatically as it fuses together. This has the great effect of making conversions a lot simpler, as shown in a recent update. Taking this to the next level, we've had a few pieces created utilising our models in converted poses, surrounded by elements of our terrain.

We are pleased to present images of a diorama which shows an Epirian squad trying to take back a Karist controlled Epirian workshop. Keep your eyes peeled for the partially assembled scarecrow robot and the subtle reposing of most of the models.

Only a couple of days remain on the kickstarter, and we are incredibly close to breaking the $45K mark, which will give every single boxed set a free copy of the full terrain sprue! If you are sitting on a $90 pledge, why not consider upgrading to a $180 double pledge, giving you two copies of every set. That will help unlock the terrain stretch goal, give you a load of extra models to experiment with converting and posing, give you extra tactical options for your forces, and give you a value which can not be beaten at retail release!

Many thanks to all of our backers for your incredible support so far. We are extremely excited to make Maelstrom's Edge a reality and get it into your hands as quickly as possible!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

Love that orange and grey color scheme on the Scarecrow - and love the whole diorama too, of course!

That is a really nice piece of work, especially fond of the bits of paperwork (blueprints/flyers) strewn about the scene.

I also like the fact that the sitting Karist trooper obviously never played video games, leaning up against red barrels like that...

Gorgeous stuff, really shows how flexible the kits, are, they're almost like action figures!

And is that a drinking straw as the pipe?

Awesome!

It is a drinking straw, yes. By design exactly the right diameter for parts on the terrain sprue.

I have a base like that, oh this is so happening!

I liked the picture frame version too, one of the main reasons I backed. I am just waiting on the miniatures, and some water works. I can't wait to make a swamp with Karists in it.

Is that a roll of tape on the blueprint? LOL, taping the scarecrow back together.

Beautifully done diarama.

Gotta ask. Where did you guys get those Jerry cans, that little bitty fire extinguisher, and that garbage bag?

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Jerry cans, barrels, the bin bag (actually a drawstring bag painted black), the tarp and toolbag are all from the Tamiya 1/48 vehicle stowage set. The fire extinguisher is from a 1/48 Italeri ground crew set.

I find 1/48 accessories are generally a better shape for 28-32 mm figures for display, but for gaming 1/35 are chunkier. GW's barrels for example are almost exactly the same size and a very similar design to Tamiya's 1/35 ones. In this case however, they (1/35 stuff) were way too big for the space I was working in.

I believe it is "Hope is not lost"

IE Karist propaganda

but what does the one under the jerry cans by the scarecrow say? I will take a wild guess and say the first word is ASCEND

'Ascend and Rejoice!'. There are two designs for Karist posters (some of which are defaced on the wall near the Epirians).

I had actually started a few designs for a shop sign for the workshop- 'Hope's End Robot and Drone Repairs'. But it unfortunately took too much space up and blocked a lot of sightlines for viewing (and photographing) the diorama.

There are a few more shots on my Facebook page.

That's actually the Karist logo, not the SAS logo. The SAS logo is a full circle.
