I figured I should put my army fluff and some battle reps here.
I hope you'll like it.

Aun'Ui Au'Taal Harun, or better know as Commander DartMouth stood with his FireWarriors and observed the field as the exercise continued. He was not satisfied at all. Suits pilots kept failing to engage their Nova Reactors. Even with his help, suits had difficulties picking targets and engaging them. Not very long into the action, the enemy overwhelmed the Tau lines and removed majority of units from the exercise. This was a bad moment for him.

The Cadre in now in active service and has been stationed on a remote location in Ke'lshan Sept. There were rumors of possible Tyranid contact, but nothing yet confirmed or denied. Not all mistakes were made by his troops. He made a poor choice of who and how to position, when to order strike and how the army will be equipped. By now the exercise was completed and all Cadre members returned to the HQ. Everybody felt the weight of today's embarrassment.

In the early morning of the following day, the central command sent an image of small Tyranid force entering orbit of a moon holding the Cadre's HQ. The message was short and clear: Destroy Tyranids at all cost. Alarm sounded and within 7 minutes all assets were ready for deployment. Harun boarded the Devilfish carrying his squad of FireWarriors and departed the HQ. The plan was as following:

The Tyranid force made ground contact in a mining ruins east of the HQ. The Cadre will deploy a gunline and keep the enemy at bay. Commander StarDrop will use his markerlight drones to mark the enemy positions within the ruins and a squadron of Drone Fighters will annihilate the enemy troops. The battle started with enemy pushing forward. The "exercise" came back to the minds of Tau Warriors once again. They started to waive. Comm. StarDrop was mortally wounded, Stealth teams fled from the battle, many more doubted their choice.

But Harun did his best to give them morale and spirit to fight against real enemy and real threat. And Cadre stood it's ground. Broadside units, Riptides, Sniper Drone squadrons and FireWarriors stopped the enemy assault just in time for Remoras to swoop in. All hell broke loose! Within Earth's minutes the Tyranids were hugging the ground under the Tau fury. With the increasing loses and break of synaptic link, Tyranids break off their attack and tried to find refuge withing the mining complex.

Those few who fled to the mining pits may not see the light of another day. Morale was restored, as the Faith in Greater Good.

Shas'Vre Au'Taal Fralel and his faithful team of Pathfinders were crouching in the debris field, trying to figure out a warcry that could be heard thru the entire region. Not just him. Comm. DartMouth with his Firewarriors, Comm.SuperStrike in his HammerHead and many other Shas'Vre and Shas'Ui that were on the battlefield. They were the last defenders of Au'Taal prime. By that point, everything was deserted, looted and ruined.
Last dawn came. Forces of Chaos made their mark in this moment of time. Rushing down thru the industrial zone were the Cultists, followed by Predator tanks and Rhino transports. Various vile creatures came out of nowhere. Two giant mechanised dragons swooped down from the skies and shapeshifting piles of disgust were coming forward. And nothing could stop them.
A brave Shas'vre led his XV104 against the shapeshifters and held his ground while TX-42 Piranhas were providing cover fire. The DevilFishes engines just stopped working, while unimaginable forces started bending the frame of the vehicle, until it snapped open. Fire Warriors tried to take cover but flames of Chaos spread everywhere.
Fralel felt something striking him so hard he fell on his back. By the time he touched the ground, he was engulfed into blaze of purple flame, burning him like acid would.
He woke up in pain. Mental pain. It was just a dream , but he saw his own death.

Imperium's frigates engaged Patrol Ship and dragged it away from the Remote Forest Moon of Ril'shash. Far enough for UltraMarines to deploy on the surface. Although they have deployed by night, moon is home to one of the Forward Patrol Bases and was manned at the time. A Pathfinder squad on their patrol run saw the drop and marked the positions, immediately alerting the command post. Commander HearthScare did not waste a minute. A small Tau intercept force was deployed on the outskirts of a nearby settlement, once occupied by some primitive race.

Constantly under surveillance, Marine forces advanced on foot thru night. Two Knights, 30 Marines, Centurions and a Assault Squad reached the settlement just before dawn. Enemy Commander, sensing that something is not right halted the advance. Wrong move, as marker lights lit up two Knights. Fearless Marines stood their ground, as RailGun shells roared toward them.

Explosion of the Knight lit up the settlement, in time for Commander ordered advance, leaving a gap between his lines, enough for majority of the Tau force to Deep Strike in the middle. Many would condemn that action, but Ke'lshan's took every chance they had to stop the enemy.

Enemy forces dispersed and close combat begun. Luring the enemy squads away. Tau made a sweeping advance, cutting thru enemy lines, consolidating closer to the deep strike point.

Comm. HearthScare cleaned building by building, eliminating enemy from key locations.

But his efforts were his alone. By the time Tau consolidated in the settlement, their FireBase was eradicated by the second Knight. The assault Marines eliminated XV9 suits, while other XV8's were unable to hold their ground under the Marine Crossfire.

A very intense battle, that did finish in favor of Space Marines. Luckily, holo fields do not leave mortal wounds.

Commander HearthScare took it upon himself to take down manufactorum grounds established by the Man of Mars to support the current Imperium's campaign in Ril'shash sector. Small attack force entered the grounds guarded by few squads of rangers, vanguards and infiltrators.
The moment the Stealth team claimed the first building, from the skies above arrived two SM drop pods. This was an ambush and the Imperium's forces acted quickly. Assault Marines, Tactical Marines, more Vanguards summoned before the forces of 6th Patrol Cadre.

The way they came, that way they left. Rain of Smart Missiles followed the newly deployed troops into their death. More fire from Broadside suits flanking the defender cut down his forces enough to create a false sense of good odds. Men of Mars were removed from play, but in vain, as the Assault squads jumped to action and removed every suit that stopped in their way. Tau reinforcements arrived, but scattered way off the landing zone. Everything went downhill for the commander. Withing next hour Tau were on retreat, slashed down by the Marine Forces...

A sad day for Comm. HearthScare, as his last two missions ended with complete failure...

It's been a while since I posted here, but here it is. I'm preparing for my first Tournament. 9 days from now I'll be hitting neighbour country with my 1850 FE list. List is still being tweaked and I'm rushing to finish my objective markers and touch up paint on my models, but... The preparations are going well. So far I have played three games. Two versus psihic deathstars and one versus Blood Angels.

There is not much I can do against psychic deathstars. Sit and shoot. Classic Tau. However, against Blood Angels last night I did some amazing things (and some stupid ones). Here are some highlights.
- Drop Pod with Dreadnought - harassed me and ate 3 broadsides, before taken down by a leftover bunch of missile drones.
- Drop Pod stayed alive and shot at some drones and didn't kill anyone for 4 rounds.
- Crisis Melta team blasted a Knight thru his rear.. Even with the shield on. Same Crisis team blasted a Landraider thru his front later in the game.
- Comm.StarDrop accepted the challenge - Held for a round, denied the witch, held for another round and wiped off Warlord and two of his companions (IN CC)

Comm.Stardrop is tweaking the wargear carried by his teams, in order to field test it again... And Again... And Again... Before the Tournament.

Imperium of Man kind has left its depleted mining fields far behind on Ril'shash Tertium. Far enough for 6th Ke'lshans to establish it's temporary base, from which it will monitor the activities in the region and hopefully prevent further Tyranid infestation. From the ruins of the Mining facility XM-39a the Skimmer Cadre was operating in broad search patterns every day, looking for any sign of Tyranid hive material. The operational SkyShield landing pad served as a refueling station for Air Caste that was making air patrols in the area. As time passed by, their senior ordered a tactical exercise, not knowing that it will come in handy few days later.
Simulated foe were the Dark Angels. They entered the compound from the south, not knowing that Tau are in control. After a brief skirmish, Dark Angels forces were quickly pushed back and eliminated.
Satisfied with the run, senior ordered a no patrol day to give his cadre a time to rest and recover. It feels good to be 'home from time to time'.

In the dawn of the following tide the proximity alarms went off. Quickly mustered forces were surrounded by Tyranid hive that has just landed on the very edge of the compound. With real threat this time, cadre jumped in cover, allowing the elements of Air Support Contingent to selectively allow Tyranids the entry to the compound, so they can be eliminated one by one.

With every flyby of Air Support, the Tyranid cries got louder and louder, not because they got closer, but because they were less and less. The wounded Minds of Synaptic link were screaming in agony, while their lesser were saturated by Railgun submunition rounds and overcharged Ion Accelerators.

This fight was indeed helped by Air Caste, but Firewarriors held their ground and their home away from home remained.

Thanks. I wanted to add some graphic moment to my fluff. I'm still experimenting, but so far it looks good and works as intended.

Now, back to the fluff...

After recent events Tau High Command had deemed Ril'shash Tertium as high risk-low income planet, as Tiamat mines and spores would come to life every day, while leftover Imperium supplies and technology were harder to find and harvest. Retreat command has been issued and transports have started evacuating Tau post all over the world. One of the last positions to be evacuated was a ground control tower, previously used to coordinate transport vessels entering and leaving Ril'shash airspace.

Kor'El Jax'rax has left he tower and started heading to the landing site when a large energy surge 'exploded' with the bliss of colors few clicks south. He knew Tyranids are back. But he wasn't sure how. Two Devilfish personnel carriers that were inbound to the landing site immediately changed their course and headed for the complex of ruined imperial buildings that were on the opposite side of the landing zone.
Pathfinders poured out and established a perimeter, so that they could feed the information to the ECC (Evacuation Control Center). Two more Defivfish transports carrying Breacher teams and IonHead were recalled to defend the position while the last transport is being refueled and loaded with personnel. In addition three RazorShark airplanes have been instructed to lend support and overwatch over the enemy that was expanding rapidly.

Tau defenders were overrun in the matter of minutes. The Devilfish transports and their passengers were boxed in the ruins, that soon became the grounds of death. Tervigons poured Tyranid warriors thru every crack. There was no escape. Only screams and bits and pieces of poor Tau tossed around.

Reaper swarms were lurking around and relaying the information to the hivemind, that focused their efforts to kill every living soul, but not everybody's sacrifice was in vain. Reapers were dealt with and IonHead and a squad of Breachers were last to embark the Manta that lifted from the surface of Ril'shash Tertium. Later orbtal scans confirmed that couple of Zoanthropes were burried deep beneath the ruins and that their 'psychic' powers managed to guide and somehow teleport the rest of the impact force to the surface. A sad day for 6th SkyLight Patrol Contingent. Every life matters.
