Warp energy.

How would you describe Warp energy? Is it slightly alive? Even Malicious?

That?s how I?ve always thought of it. Almost conscious and Malicious.

The energy of the warp (which is as prevalent as matter in the "normal" universe) is primarily psychic and charged with the emotions of the "normal" universe's sentient beings. Since negative emotions are more prevalent than positive, especially under Imperial rule, the prevailing forces will be destructive and malicious.

The conscious part of the warp is the daemons, chunks of emotion that have coalesced and become aware. Not every daemon has to be something as significant as Bloodletter or Daemonette; most daemons are smaller than Nurglings, and are only vaguely aware of anything beyond their defining emotion; little more than beasts. So, within the normal "flow" of the empyrean, there would be significant numbers of minor daemons living their emotion.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.
