Osprey’s main page for this series of games.

This is a list of all the OWG series of games that are getting a lot of attention from forum members. Where available I have put in the link to the review and discussion thread on each game.

Dux Bellorum
OWG 1
Small scale mass battles in the Arthurian Dark Ages, with sub-Roman British versus Saxons, Saxons versus Vikings and so on. Figures are based in elements.

A World Aflame
OWG 2
Brushfire wars between the end of the Great War and the start of WW2.

In Her Majesty’s Name
OWG 3
Steampunk skirmishing in the late Victorian era of colonialism.

Heroes, Villains and Fiends
OWG 3A
Expansion for In Her Majesty’s Name adding rules, equipment and special powers for new power groups especially mercenary and covert organisations like the Knights Templar.

Sleeping Dragon, Rising Sun
OWG 3B
Expansion for In Her Majesty’s Name adding specific rules for the Japanese versus Chinese.

Ronin
OWG 4
Skirmish games set in Japan during the Sengoku Jidai civil war period of 1500 to 1600. Includes character customisation and campaign rules. It has the flavour of films like Seven Samurai and Yojimbo.
A terrain building project for Ronin.
Review and comparison of Ronin and En Garde

Of Gods and Mortals
OWG 5
Skirmish game in which you control a mythical god from an historical pantheon, with a warband of heroes and low-level followers (Thor with Vikings, Ares with Spartans, and so on.) The god’s power is sustained by the faith of his followers, so he can’t let them get wiped out like popcorn.
Review and discussion of OGAM.

A Fistful of Kung Fu
OWG 6
Skirmish game based on the worlds of Hong Kong action cinema. Includes martial arts, ‘gun fu’ and supernatural powers and can cover 19th century to the present day. Think 'Hard Boiled', 'Enter The Dragon', and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'.

On The Seven Seas
OWG 7
Pirate era game (17th and 18th centuries) focussing on hand to hand combat in boarding actions and shore parties.

Lion Rampant
OWG 8
Rules for small mass battles in the feudal and mediaeval periods in western Europe.

Fighting Sail
OWG 9
Napoleonic era naval battles, designed for fast play by tracking fleet morale rather than damage status of individual ships.

Black Ops
OWG 10
Tactical espionage skirmish recreating the action scenes of James Bond and Jason Bourne style films. You can use stealth and combat to achieve mission goals.

Honours of War
OWG 11
Rules for the Seven Years War (1756 to 1762) rules that allow you to recreate any size fight from small skirmish up to a major battle.
Review by Easy E and subsequent discussion.
En Garde
OWG 12
Swashbuckling sword fights in the Three Musketeers tradition, using the same basic combat system as Ronin.
Thread for swashbuckling figures.
Review and comparison of En Garde and Ronin

Dragon Rampant
OWG 13
Small army rules for fantasy games, using the same combat system as Lion Rampant.
Army and fluff discussion thread.
Pics, batrep and a short review.
There are a lot more games coming in this imprint, such as Poseidon's Warriors (Ancient naval warfare) which you can find listed on Amazon.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

That's not a "blue" series game. If we include it, I suppose we need to include Tomorrow's War, Across A Deadly Field and its theater books, Land of the Free, and Frostgrave not to mention Bolt Action.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
KK, not sure if this is what you had in mind but maybe my terrain + demo scenario thread for Ronin might be appropriate for your index above:

Osprey: Faith and Blood released today.

https://ospreypublishing.com/outremer-faith-and-blood

Small warband style game set during the crusades. It sounds a bit 'Mordheim' in that part of the game is around building out the player's entourage and growing them up into a known and feared force.

Well, at least Amazon is saying it released today. Which makes sense as a distributor it releases there before brick and mortar who have to get the shipments in and then stock them.
