Like most, I recently purchased the Renegade boxed set, with the sole purpose of adding to my growing BA army. At the moment I've got around 2,500 - 3,000 points worth of marines and vehicles, most of which are primarily focussed on CC.

The Imperial Knights help expand my somewhat lacking firepower.

So, with that in mind, what colours should I go with?

I fancy keeping with the BA theme. I think the shooty one will be the traditional red and black, possibly with a bit of gold. The other (CC) I'm tempted to Death Company the gak out of it.

Suggestions?

You'll never see me coming.

Are you wanting a fluffy answer or what will compliment the army answer?

Black, red and yellow/gold colours seem like an idea.

Maybe you don't care but the Knights are never piloted by Space Marines in the fluff.

The are very separate from Marines, like an Admech Dunecrawler or SoB Immolator... moreso because they survived the Age of Strife pretty much unchanged and unharmed while the rest of mankind went to hell. The old feudal hierarchy of knight houses has therefor pretty much remained unchanged since before the Imperium was born.

Knightly houses, have been known however, to pledge themselves to certain marine chapters and carry campaign banners and chapter heraldry on their armor.

I did mine as House Hawkshroud, pledged to the Blood Angels: http://atticwars40k.blogspot.com/2016/05/imperial-knight-house-hawkshroud.html

Now if you don't care about the fluff, then you aren't limited to the schemes in the codex either.

Well you could either go for reds, blacks and golds to fit the Blood Angels themselves or you could go for some dark greens to compliment the red and really pop on the table.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Nice!

I know they're not piloted by Space marines. As for fluff, they'd be pledged to the BA after having their asses saved by the Chapter at some point. Made up, of course.

That is a stunning bit of work on the Knight there

Thanks guys, yeah that's basically the same story I went with haha. A bulk transporter moving a 3 Knight Hawkshroud court, was, to make a long story short, rescued from disaster by a diverted fleet of Blood Angels.

Have decided to go with a traditional looking BA colour scheme for my first Knight. However, I've removed half the face armour and painted it gold in memory of Erasmus Tycho. The Knight will also be named Erasmus.

Fluff-wise: From Tycho's actions on Armageddon, when he was Death Company and died against the Orks, provided enough time for this particular Knight from House Terryn to re-arm when the Orks were sure to overrun and kill the crew, rendering the knight useless in the campaign.

Tycho's charge with the Death Company delayed that, allowing the crew to get the knight ready and then support the advance. As a mark of respect, the house allowed the crew to paint the Knight in BA colours and modify the face armour, while retaining House Terryn markings in addition to BA insignia.

Love the idea and the theme! ...make sure you post pics. I will say that just 'Erasmus' doesn't sound very Knightly... perhaps something like Erasmus's Fury or The Rage of Erasmus or The Wrath of Erasmus or something to that effect, but whatever I like where you're going so far!

Thanks!

The name will depend on how small I can make the writing. I'm not so good at freehand writing with a paintbrush. But I like the suggestions.

I'll post Images once it's ready.
