Like what has been said, not enough bodies. Plus, give the land raider extra armor.

Your devestator squads cost 230 a piece, by dropping one you can get 2 las/plas squads of six guys or 2 tank hunting las/plas of 5 guys.

By the way... do you also have a movie marine army? Just trying to make sure you are who I think you are.

The realm of the chipmunk!

YAY fir Turn Signals!

Anyways. Personnaly I like the list. It's themed, fairly effective, umm... pointy, and good.

Think about it. You have ALOT of lascannons. They hit on 3s and wound on 2s against just about everything and nothing gets armour saves. You have I think 18 or so. On average about 10 of those will hit every turn and maybe 8 will wound. That's 8 dead models every turn.

Against SM and armies that rely on armour saves, this army is a complete nightmare. Against guard, Orks, Nids, you have the dreads and DW. You'll have a hard time though.

I like it. And I love TS

P.S. My first post! *Does a dance*

The problem with this list is that it can't take casualties. Most of the time you will be removing Lascannons. I would listen to Me_Person, you can still have a themed armylist with 6-man Las/Plas Squads complimented by a few Elite Devestator Squads.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

What up G, Like Me_Person and Mahu said, the list is reallllly light on grunts. IN objective based missions, you are really going to have some problems. My suggestion would be a tornado speeder or two. The first thing I'd cut out of the list would be the Deathwatch squad and also a dev squad from the Heavy slot. I'd use those points to get more efficient squads and spread the lascannon love around. That way your proportion of LC's is still good but the have ablative wounds before they go away. I'd also change the wargear on your captain to something more killy. Like a pair Lightning claws... Capt K

I'd reduce the Dev Squad sizes to 6 each and use the extra bodies to make a tactical squad. You can free up some serious points buy making all the Dev squads 6 man with 3 heavy weapons each. I don't have my book handy, but that can probably get you 2 more tactical squads with Lascannons. Remember you pay a premiem on LC's in dev squads. Also, don't forget to add smoke to the landraider and add the searchlight back to the dread. Your landraider will be ready on Saturday, so bring the loot. Capt K

Thanks for the help, I'll re-work the list, unfortunately, Ginku (the Dread) is a named Character and fluffwise is lascannon armed...

Ok, More Marines, Less Scouts, 6 Man Dev Squads... back to the Army List Editor... Hopefully the 3rd time is the Charm.

The Hammer

Devastators do pay a lot for a lascannon compared to a tactical squad. I suspect your list would be pretty good against Monolith Necrons and big bugs, congratulations against that DE player, though I suspect it was more a case of you beating him that your army beating his, given the notoriously steep Druchii learning curve. You've got a typo in the doctrines of the first list, BTW - it's spelled "Honor Your Wargear" not "Suffer Not the Work of Heretics."

I'm making the assumption that you've got an anti-assault cannon bias (given the cyclones) on top of your fluffed devastator love. My bias towards devs is missile launchers, because lascannon are bloody expensive for them and Whirlwinds can do close to the same job as a heavy bolter squad at a longer range for fewer points. I also really like a lone five man dev squad with nothing but boltguns for a shooty marine army - their job is to perform the tactical ju-jitsu of nullifying the disadvantage of being forced to deploy first - 75 points to shrink your opponent's deployment zone by 6"-12" is nice is you're trying to shoot him up.

On the command squad, they look cool but a leetle unfocussed. If you hate assault cannon - and I'm at a loss as to why else they have cyclones - I'd almost say cut the cyclones for a fifth Terminator. Then use Honor Your Wargear to shuttle one squad of Devs up to Elites - Missile Launcher + Tank Hunters is cheaper than a lascannon and just as good against MEQs. (frag missiles do not warrant serious discussion, but a point is a point) Turn another Devs squad into a five-man screen, then use the points from the extra armour - and your remaining heavy support choice - to upgrade the Terminator's transport to a Crusader. Land Raiders don't need extra armour, since Power of the Machine Spirit does the same job. Push the Terminators down into your last Elites slot, and give them Furious Charge, four sets of Lightning Claws and a Thunder Hammer, and send Sequoia back to argue with the Commissaries for more boltgun rounds in favour of a simple Reclusiarch with Termie Honours and a pistol. Though this will be hell on your comp score, you'll have a quite savage little counterattack squad. Just have the Chappy and Termies ride in the Crusader - possibly with smoke launchers in case of a large board - and when they disembark you'll be able to assault with 3x4 S5 I5 power weapons rerolling to hit and to wound from the "basic" troopers alone. In case of escalation, the Termies can try to teleport, the Chappy hides behind some shooting squads and the Crusader is still a big ol' mobile bunker. (just try not to think about the pintle mounted assault cannon when you're deliberately shooting it at BS2 to get more 6s - hey, one in the army isn't too bad ) With the extra points you'll have floating around at this point, it should be relatively easy to squeeze back in Sequoia on top of a couple of six-man las plas squads to restore the firepower you lost trimming away the devs. If you can find 25 extra points at this stage, I'd reccomend making Ginku venerable. (longer naps - whoops, wrong web comic!) On the net, you will lose a lot of long ranged, AP2 shooting, as well as the few shreds of composition your army does have, but the flip side is some added flexibility for the army as a whole by giving a few units - Land Raider and Termies - a more distinct role.

GL, and keep in mind, that's just one guy's take.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.
