I've painted some Epirians. Sorry for the crap pictures.

Here's the Journeyman Bot Handler

Some Contractor Engineers. I added some Forgeworld Imperial Guard backpacks to them. To keep their bot repairing tools in.

Apprentice Bot Handler with his Spiders. The Spiders actually have magnetized weapons so they can switch to Flakk Guns.

Fireflies.

Next i'll paint some Karists up. I'm a slow painter so it might take some time before i post new pictures!

Those are gorgeous! The painting quality more than makes up for any deficiency in the photographs themselves.

Please keep posting!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

The paint scheme is an approximation of one of the Medge studio schemes.
I believe the backpacks are from a sprue called something like Cadian Upgrade Pack. It may be out of production. I just used it because it was laying around

I did some Karists.
But, oh the Horror. The varnish spray did the misty thing on my models and the Angel Minnows have kind of a "frosting" on them instead of being pure black and evil. All the models lost a bit of crispness and detail because of it. Guess I have to find out how to avoid that in the future.
I used Cadian Imperial Guard torsos I have laying around since we all know the current Karist ones are abdominally challenged. (I also feel like a little bit of green stuff can fix that easily, but it was quicker the way i did it) I think it turned out great, the designs of the two kinds of torsos are very similar.
To satisfy my backpack fetish I gave them backpacks from Cadian Imperial Guard Heavy Weapon Teams. You could argue that Karist Troopers are storm troops and shouldn't have backpacks, but in the lore they are also kind of sneaky guerillas. So I feel backpacks are justified.
Oh, I used a couple of Imperial Guard heads as well on the Troopers.
So, here they are in all their gakky picture quality glory:

I found a function called "Auto-level" in Paint.net, which seemed to do something. So i uploaded some auto-leved Epirians.

My next batch will be 1 Epirian Uplink Relay, 2 more Firefly Drones, 2 Hunters, 2 Scarecrow Snipers and 1 Subjugator.
And I can't wait to listen to the new audiobook, "Fracture"

I like the scheme you've chosen for the Karists... And the glowy drum on the grenade launcher is awesome

These look great! Well done!

You can fix the frosting on your models: go over them again with gloss varnish. That'll get rid of the frosting immediately.

Wait at least 24-48 hours before spraying them again with matt varnish - and make sure you're not subjecting the figures or spray can to high humidity or large temperature changes when you're spraying (e.g. by taking miniatures from a warm house to a cool outdoors, spraying and bringing back indoors. Similarly for air conditioned homes in hot climates...). If you can, leave figures and spray can outdoors to adjust to ambient temperature before spraying (watch out for dust!) and leave them outdoors till the spray is dry.

Also ensure your spray can is thoroughly and properly mixed. I've heard it said you should spend at least a minute first rolling the mixer ball around the bottom and then shaking up and down.

Great stuff! Cool to see something a little different for the Karists as well, with the backpacks and Cadian bits. Bummer about the spray, let's hope it can be fixed

@insaniak: Thanks. I think I looked in the rulebook and found that the Ripper Grenade Launcher launches cybel canisters before I decided to paint the drum glowy.

@angryboy2k: Awesome advice! I feel better now

@Sgt.Oddball: Yeah, just a little bit different. I wanted to keep the "white armor" and "glowy cybel" from the lore since I like that bit.
